“The relationship between Indonesia and France in the creative economy is not only intergovernmental collaboration but also an exchange of ideas and values. We welcome the joint commitment to strengthen subsectors such as film, animation, design, fashion, crafts, and games, as these are where our young generation can grow, express themselves, and drive the economy of the future,” said Deputy Minister Irene.

We believe that this will open new economic opportunities and foster stronger people-to-people relations,” said Laurent.
Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Stella Christy, who was also present, highlighted the importance of cultural and educational collaboration as the foundation of long-term bilateral relations. She said this collaboration will further strengthen intergovernmental ties.
“Cultural exchanges and educational cooperation open equal and enriching dialogue between nations. From here, cross-cultural understanding, joint research, and artistic collaboration are born, strengthening people-to-people relations in a sustainable way,” said Stella.

Bastille Day, celebrated every 14 July, commemorates the storming of the Bastille in 1789 as the beginning of the French Revolution and the birth of the values of liberté, égalité, fraternité. In Jakarta, the celebration was held in a warm and festive atmosphere, attended by government officials, diplomatic corps, creative industry practitioners, and cultural partners from both countries.
For the Ministry of Creative Economy, this moment is a tangible symbol of cultural diplomacy that mutually strengthens. The Ministry records that Indonesia–France bilateral cooperation in the creative economy sector has shown significant progress, especially since the signing of a memorandum of understanding in May 2025, witnessed directly by President Prabowo Subianto and President Emmanuel Macron.
From bilateral fashion incubators such as PINTU, film training, to the participation of local creators in international festivals, the collaboration has become a strategic and sustainable growth platform. The Ministry of Creative Economy reaffirms its commitment to continue expanding international partnerships that directly contribute to the sustainable growth of the creative economy sector, strengthen the role of young creators, and position Indonesia as a hub of cultural innovation that is relevant on the global stage. This effort is also part of the strategy to enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative economy.
