Jakarta, 19 February, 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, discussed opportunities for synergy in strengthening the creative and digital economy sectors with Himpunan Pengusaha Pribumi Indonesia (HIPPI). In addition, the meeting also highlighted strengthening the capacity of intellectual property-based MSMEs, expanding business networks, as well as enhancing access to financing and commercialization of national creative products as efforts to increase economic added value.
Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with the board members of Himpunan Pengusaha Pribumi Indonesia (HIPPI) at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, on Thursday (19/2/2026).
“In principle, it is the same—we see the creative economy as the new engine of growth that starts from the regions. The potential of young people is spread across various regions of Indonesia. Our shared task is to elevate local heroes into national champions and penetrate the global market,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during an audience with the board members of Himpunan Pengusaha Pribumi Indonesia (HIPPI) at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
During the meeting, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky emphasized that the government is currently strengthening the creative economy ecosystem as a strategy for national economic transformation based on innovation, talent, and intellectual property. He stressed that the development of this sector must begin at the regional level by maximizing the potential of local talent.
Furthermore, he conveyed that strengthening the creative sector needs to be carried out through a hexahelix approach involving the government, business actors, communities, academia, media, and financial institutions. Such collaboration can be realized through pilot projects, joint curation, and financing assistance schemes so that intellectual property-based businesses become more bankable and gain greater trust from financial institutions.
“We cannot move forward alone. Communities and associations such as Himpunan Pengusaha Pribumi Indonesia (HIPPI) have strong networks in the regions. We must prepare the ecosystem together so that financing for the creative sector becomes more accessible,” he explained.

As an organization established on August 17, 1976, Himpunan Pengusaha Pribumi Indonesia (HIPPI) currently has a network across 22 provinces with approximately 8,000 active members, the majority of whom are MSME actors, with nearly 50 percent operating in the creative industry sector. During the audience, HIPPI introduced its work programs and offered strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy.
Chairman of HIPPI, Erik Hidayat, emphasized that the organization upholds the spirit of national interest and economic nationalism. Meanwhile, Chairman of Creative Economy and Digital Affairs of HIPPI, Joshua P.M. Simanjuntak, presented the 3C (Competency, Connectivity, Commercialization) collaboration framework initiated by HIPPI to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem.
“If natural resources can be depleted, creativity will never run out. Therefore, we want to see the creative economy grow sustainably in Indonesia. HIPPI is ready to collaborate and develop joint programs so that creative MSME players become stronger and move up the value chain,” said Erik Hidayat.
“We are here to align with the government’s vision of making the creative economy the new engine of growth. Many of our members’ businesses are based on intellectual property and need to be enhanced in value so they can be converted into economic value. Through a hexahelix approach, we aim to bridge the upstream to downstream processes—from improving competencies, expanding networks, to product commercialization—so that they can make a tangible contribution to the national economy,” added Joshua P.M. Simanjuntak.
