Jakarta, June 15, 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, stated that the successful execution of the Jakarta Future Festival (JFF) 2025 stands as tangible evidence of cross-sector collaboration between the Ministry, regional governments, and creative economy talents. This was conveyed during the closing of JFF 2025 on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

“This collaboration doesn’t only involve the Ministry of Creative Economy, but also the regional government—in this case, the Jakarta Provincial Government. It proves that cooperation between ministries and local governments is highly crucial. Despite our short working period of just 200 days, we have already managed to collaborate and show the public that this kind of synergy is very much possible,” said Deputy Minister Irene.
Held over three days from June 13, 2025, at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), the festival was part of the celebration of Jakarta’s 498th anniversary. The closing event was attended by the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, Deputy Minister Irene Umar, former Governor of Jakarta Anies Rasyid Baswedan (2017–2022), as well as key figures from various sectors.
Jakarta Future Festival 2025 reflects a concrete partnership between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Provincial Government of Jakarta. The collaboration was formally established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in March 2025 by Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya and Governor Pramono Anung. Key areas of cooperation include developing the creative economy ecosystem through research and education, organizing thematic events, activating creative economy corridors across Jakarta, capacity building for creative talents, marketing and promotion, as well as exchanging data and information.
“There’s no doubt that Jakarta deserves to be a global city. Our collaboration will not stop here. More initiatives are coming—building on the foundation laid out in the MoU signed by Minister Teuku Riefky and Governor Pramono Anung,” Irene added.
Beyond collaboration with the Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah/Bappeda), the Ministry also engaged with other government bodies, such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (MoWECP), all of which participated in the annual festival.

Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Veronica Tan, who joined a talk show session at JFF 2025, emphasized the importance of collaboration among government institutions. She noted that through JFF 2025, many creative talents have emerged and expressed interest in involving them in future joint programs with the MoWECP.
“There are so many creative talents here. From this festival, we at the Ministry see an opportunity to collaborate with them—alongside the Ministry of Creative Economy —to revitalize Integrated child-friendly public space (RPTRA) across Jakarta, perhaps through interactive libraries or child-friendly play areas,” said Veronica at the event.
JFF 2025 featured a variety of programs, including exhibitions on technology and innovation, performing arts, public discussions, MSME bazaars, and competitions for future urban design ideas. Designed to be inclusive and open to the public, the festival served as a platform for collaboration and community participation.
Deputy Minister Irene Umar was accompanied at the closing ceremony by Deputy for Media Creativity, Agustini Rahayu, and the Director for Publishing and Photography, Iman Santosa.
