Local Game Gains Global Recognition, Ministry of Creative Economy Applauds KuloNiku

Jakarta, 14 April, 2026 – The local game KuloNiku: Bowl Up! has achieved a positive milestone in the global market by earning an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on the Steam platform, based on more than 500 user reviews. This achievement was reached within five days of its release on April 7, 2026.

Pencapaian ini diraih dalam waktu lima hari sejak peluncurannya pada 7 April 2026.The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) appreciates the positive achievement of the local game KuloNiku: Bowl Up! in the global market, which earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, Jakarta, Tuesday (14/4/2026).

This cooking simulation game is a collaboration between Gambir Studio, based in Sleman, and international publisher Raw Fury from Sweden. This success also marks a new milestone, as it becomes the first Indonesian game published by Raw Fury.

Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, expressed appreciation for this achievement as evidence of the competitiveness of national talent in the global industry.

“The success of KuloNiku: Bowl Up! demonstrates that Indonesian creative works are capable of competing in the international market by leveraging the richness of local culture as their main strength. This serves as a concrete example of how the creative economy can become a new engine of national economic growth,” he stated.

Developed by a local team, the game incorporates Indonesian cultural elements, such as bakso cuisine and the iconic chicken bowl motif, packaged in an engaging way to reach the global market. All assets, including illustrations, 3D models, music, and programming, were created by domestic talents.

Gambir Studio itself is a game developer established in 2016 and based in Sleman.

The studio previously achieved success with several culinary-themed mobile games, such as Selera Nusantara and Warung Seblak Nusantara, which have collectively been downloaded more than 10 million times. In this game, players manage a legendary bakso restaurant in the fictional city of Kuloniku, face various culinary challenges, and compete with rival characters in cooking competitions.

Features include recipe exploration, restaurant upgrades, and interactions with local characters. KuloNiku: Bowl Up! is available for PC and Mac via Steam at a price of Rp104,999, with a 20 percent discount promotion valid until April 21, 2026. The game has also received a 3+ age classification from the Indonesian Game Rating System (IGRS).
