Jakarta, 16 August 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy, in collaboration with TransJakarta, is presenting a showcase of local Intellectual Property (IP) works on public buses and shelters across Jakarta. This initiative invites the public to contribute to the growth of creativity and innovation in Indonesia’s creative economy.
Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menghadiri peluncuran kolaborasi Intellectual Property (IP) lokal pada bus TransJakarta, Jakarta, Sabtu (16/08/2025).
Launched at the Tosari TransJakarta Shelter in Jakarta, the collaboration features seven local IPs displayed across six TransJakarta buses, transforming public transportation into a moving gallery that blends mobility with appreciation for local art and culture.
Previously, local IP had also been introduced through various modes of transportation across Indonesia. Travelers have been introduced to local creative works through Garuda Indonesia aircraft featuring collaborations with Tahilalats, trains showcasing the Jumbo character, as well as comics such as Komik Gajelas, Si Bedil, and Tuti & Friends.

These initiatives serve as a bridge to expand public appreciation of homegrown creative talent before appearing in TransJakarta’s fleet. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized the importance of such collaborations in advancing the creative economy.
“Although some IPs have gained international recognition, many local creative works still deserve greater public visibility. With the right support, Indonesian creators can become the new engine of growth and a source of national pride,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar.

“Buses and shelters can now serve as canvases for youth creativity, giving young creators the opportunity to showcase their work directly to the public while making public transportation more vibrant, educational, and inspiring,” added TransJakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza.
This collaboration not only enhances the visual appeal of public spaces but also strengthens the creative economy as a means of youth expression. Featuring local IP in public transport demonstrates that the creativity of Indonesia’s younger generation can contribute meaningfully to cultural development while reinforcing national identity amid globalization.

“Beemala presents a simple character feeding stray cats. This concept reminds us that meaningful change often begins with small gestures. It aligns with the spirit of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day: unity and generosity with sincerity. It is an honor to showcase this work to the public through this collaboration,” said Tabe Thay, creator of Beemala, sharing the philosophy behind their work.
