Jakarta, June 25, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) has officially transferred the static archives of the former Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) covering the 2016–2019 period to the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI). The Ministry and ANRI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen a professional, modern, accountable, and sustainable archival management system.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya officially handed over the static archives of the former Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) for the 2016–2019 period to the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) in Jakarta on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
"The creative economy is driven by creativity, innovation, technology, and cultural heritage. It continues to grow while making a significant contribution to the national economy by creating jobs and strengthening Indonesia’s competitiveness. To support this growth, robust archival governance is essential to ensure that every policy is documented in an orderly, accountable, and sustainable manner as part of building a professional and modern bureaucracy," said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya on Thursday (June 25).
The Ministry transferred two boxes of static archives from the former BEKRAF covering the 2016–2019 period to ANRI. The archives document the early development of Indonesia’s creative economy, from the establishment of BEKRAF to a range of strategic programs that laid the foundation for the sector’s growth.
In addition to the archival handover, the MoU establishes a framework for closer cooperation in archival management, human resource capacity building, and the development of archival systems that are adaptive to technological advancements.

"I would like to express my appreciation to ANRI for its support since the establishment of this Ministry and throughout the process of identifying these static archives. We believe that sound archival governance not only strengthens government accountability but also ensures that the journey and achievements of Indonesia’s creative economy are well documented as part of the nation’s collective memory for future generations," the Minister said.
Strengthening archival governance has become increasingly important as the creative economy continues to expand. In 2025, the sector attracted Rp183 trillion in investment, recorded 6.86 percent GDP growth, surpassing the national economic growth rate of 5.11 percent, and employed 27.4 million people, accounting for 18.7 percent of Indonesia’s total workforce.
These achievements underscore the need for strong institutional governance supported by well-managed data and archives. Proper archival management serves as a strategic source of information for data-driven policymaking, enabling more targeted, measurable, and sustainable policies.
"Through this collaboration, ANRI is committed not only to preserving strategic national archives but also to optimizing them as resources for education, research, and academic reference, ultimately fostering innovation in Indonesia’s creative economy," said Mego Pinandito, Head of ANRI, welcoming the partnership.
The Minister was accompanied by Dessy Ruhati, Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Secretary of the Creative Economy Agency; Yanuar Pranuradhi, Special Staff to the Minister for Internal Management and Organizational Effectiveness; Rian Firmansyah, Special Staff to the Minister for Strategic Issues and Interagency Relations; Indra Saputra Farhas, Acting Head of the Bureau of General Affairs; M.
