“The presence of the Ministry of Creative Economy today aims to provide reinforcement and support in two areas. First, strengthening professionalism in each creative economy subsector to open job opportunities and encourage entrepreneurship. Second, ensuring that the output of creative economy subsectors continues to collaborate with various stakeholders,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky after the meeting in the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Meeting Room on Tuesday, 2 September 2025.
According to BPS data, the number of workers in the creative economy sector reached 26.5 million in 2024. The workforce is targeted to increase steadily throughout 2025–2029, and the Ministry of Creative Economy is optimistic it will absorb 27.7 million workers by 2029. The Ministry also aims for direct contributions through the creation of quality jobs that can increase the middle-class population while supporting inclusive and sustainable growth.
The Minister of Creative Economy also highlighted cross-ministerial collaboration in supporting national priority programs such as Sekolah Rakyat and Koperasi Desa Merah Putih. These programs are expected to provide tangible benefits for improving community welfare across regions.
“We have collaborated with the Ministry of Social Affairs to strengthen the Sekolah Rakyat program, particularly at the high school level, by providing creative economy-based training so that graduates will have the skills to work in creative economy subsectors. We have also collaborated with the Ministry of Cooperatives on the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih program to train each cooperative’s affiliates to sell creative products in their villages,” added the Minister of Creative Economy.

Furthermore, collaborations continue as a form of synergy and commitment by the Ministry of Creative Economy through workforce and entrepreneur capacity development, alongside improving data accuracy for effective program implementation.
“Collaboration has also been conducted with the Ministry of MSMEs and the Ministry of Trade to prepare new workers and entrepreneurs. In addition, the Ministry of Creative Economy collaborates with BPS to support the National Economic Census, conducted every ten years, so that by early 2026 we can remap creative economy potential across regions, especially in regencies and cities,” added the Minister of Creative Economy.
According to Coordinating Minister Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, this cross-ministerial meeting represents consolidation efforts to ensure Indonesia’s economic space and opportunities continue to grow while requiring continuous data updates.
“Today we held a regular meeting to update and synchronize data so that all community economic empowerment programs can be effective. The dynamics of constantly evolving data will be a priority to ensure government programs are on target. We are also continuously working to address issues, particularly unemployment, to create new job opportunities in both villages and cities. We are strengthening the quality and placement system of workers abroad to expand employment opportunities,” said Coordinating Minister Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar.
These statements align with remarks by BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, who stated that collaboration for the 2026 Economic Census will be conducted more intensively so that complete data can be immediately utilized to formulate more precise government policies.

The role of the 2026 Economic Census will be crucial, particularly as BPS will collaborate more closely with the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Ministry of MSMEs, marking an important moment to have a true picture of Indonesia’s economy,” said Amalia Adininggar.
