Jakarta, 6 March, 2026 – Teuku Riefky Harsya, Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, received an audience with DAYA Indonesia to discuss collaboration opportunities in strengthening the national music ecosystem, including plans to organize the DAYA Music Festival of Indonesia (DMFOI).
Teuku Riefky Harsya received the delegation from DAYA Indonesia at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Friday (March 6, 2026).
According to Teuku Riefky Harsya, music festivals have great potential to drive the growth of the creative industry while also creating employment opportunities for young talents.
“Creative economy–based job opportunities are expanding significantly and have the potential to absorb the total number of open unemployment among people under 40. Therefore, activities such as music festivals can absorb creative talents and build an ecosystem that strengthens the contribution of the music subsector in driving national economic growth,” said Teuku Riefky Harsya during the audience held at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, on Friday (March 6).
He also added that the Ministry of Creative Economy remains open to collaboration with various stakeholders who share the same vision of developing the creative industry, including through the organization of music festivals such as the planned DAYA Music Festival of Indonesia by DAYA Indonesia.

“Basically, the Ministry of Creative Economy is very open to collaboration, especially when we share the same spirit. The important thing is how, despite existing limitations, we can find common ground so that activities such as music festivals can continue to take place and create an impact on Indonesia’s creative industry. Turn challenges into opportunities!” emphasized Teuku Riefky Harsya.
The DAYA Music Festival of Indonesia (DMFOI) is designed as an integrated national and international platform that combines dialogue, exhibitions, and music festivals to strengthen Indonesia’s music ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Tjut Nyak Deviana Daudsjah, Principal of DAYA Indonesia Performing Arts Academy Indonesia, presented the concept of the DAYA Music Festival of Indonesia (DMFOI), which not only features music performances but also emphasizes education, performing arts talent development, and international collaboration. The festival is expected to become a platform for musicians and creative industry players to exchange knowledge, expand networks, and encourage the growth of a music-based creative economy.

“In short, the music festival we want to create is aimed at advancing the music ecosystem. One of the components of the festival is dialogue, which serves as a moment for Indonesian music practitioners to exchange ideas with music experts from various countries. We also plan to hold exhibitions of musical instruments produced in Indonesia so they can be recognized nationally and internationally,” said Tjut Nyak Deviana Daudsjah.
Indonesia is considered to have a large population of young creative talents, a rich heritage of traditional music, a continuously growing modern music industry, and increasing global interest in culture from Sabang to Merauke. Initiated by DAYA Indonesia Performing Arts Academy Indonesia, the DAYA Music Festival of Indonesia (DMFOI) aims to bridge industry education, cultural preservation, and musical instrument manufacturing within one integrated festival architecture.
