“We want to accelerate the role of the creative economy as the new engine of growth and ensure that this sector is not left behind. Bappenas has set a target of creating 27 million creative economy jobs, and collaboration is needed to achieve this,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during the meeting at the Ministry of Cooperatives on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Minister Teuku Riefky stated that his visit to the Ministry of Cooperatives aligns with the government’s priority programs in supporting ASTA EKRAF, which focuses on creating quality jobs. The eight main pillars of ASTA EKRAF are:

  1. EKRAF KARYA – strengthening intellectual property (IP);

  2. EKRAF DATA – collaboration with Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to strengthen creative economy data, especially ahead of the 2026 Census;

  3. EKRAF PASAR – expanding domestic market access;

  4. SINERGI EKRAF – encouraging hexalix collaboration (government, business players, academia, communities, media, and financial institutions);

  5. TALENTA EKRAF – enhancing human resource capacity in the creative economy sector;

  6. INFRA EKRAF – developing creative area infrastructure;

  7. DANA EKRAF – focusing on funding access for creators; and

  8. EKRAF BIJAK – strengthening policy based on research and data.

During the meeting, Minister Teuku Riefky and Minister Budi Arie discussed a number of strategic initiatives, including assistance and collaboration in establishing creative economy cooperatives, financing facilitation through the LPDB (Revolving Fund Management Institution) scheme, and developing cooperative-based creative spaces. They also explored cooperation opportunities in business training and mentoring, including management training, digital marketing, business legality (NIB, halal certification, and IP), and business proposal preparation.

Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized the importance of cooperatives as financing aggregators for creative economy players, particularly through LPDB revolving funds. On the promotional side, he added, this collaboration is expected to pave the way for creative economy players to participate more actively in national and international exhibitions and strengthen their presence in digital marketplaces.

Minister Budi Arie welcomed this collaboration initiative. He stated that there are currently more than 130,000 cooperatives across Indonesia, including cooperatives in the fashion, craft, film, food, and music sectors that are closely related to creative economy subsectors. The government is encouraging the strengthening of creative economy cooperatives as integrated production and distribution centers, as well as the development of creative villages through the provision of cooperative-based supporting infrastructure.
