Jakarta, June 17, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, welcomed Minister of Transmigration, Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, during an official visit at the Ministry’s office in Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The meeting focused on strategies to create employment opportunities, improve community welfare, and support national economic growth.

Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized the importance of generating jobs to uplift the welfare of transmigrant communities and highlighted the need to harness creativity and skills to elevate the capacity of emerging talents.
“Today’s discussion aims to explore potential inter-ministerial collaborations because the creative economy plays a central role in empowering local communities within transmigration programs—encouraging independence and competitiveness,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.
He also pointed out the structural shift in job market trends, from traditional labor-intensive to creative, innovation-driven industries. Indonesia’s 17 creative economy subsectors are increasingly absorbing new talent each year.
“We are seeing a shift from agriculture-based economies that are labor-intensive, to industrial economies that are capital-intensive, and now toward creative economies that are idea-intensive. The creative industries leverage creativity, innovation, and technology to generate added value across sectors,” Minister Teuku Riefky explained.
To support this shift, he proposed a collaboration to develop integrated creative hubs in transmigration areas, aiming to build a more dynamic and sustainable local ecosystem.

Minister of Transmigration, Muhammad Iftitah, welcomed the proposal and affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to equitable access and opportunity for all citizens in fostering inclusive, sustainable economic growth.
“Transmigration is not merely about relocating people. Our current vision focuses on developing new, integrated economic zones to enhance well-being for all,” said Minister Iftitah.
He also introduced the Ministry’s flagship programs—Trans Tuntas (T2), Local Transmigration (Translok), Transmigration Patriot, Trans Gotong Royong (Trans GR), and Trans Karya Nusa (TKN)—which aim to build productive and sustainable transmigration zones.
“When we build an economic area, it’s not just about relocating livelihoods—it’s about building civilization. We need powerful storytelling that explains the meaning behind ‘trans’ as ‘beyond’ or ‘crossing boundaries.’ The creative economy must offer compelling, unified narratives to attract broader public interest to these well-integrated transmigration areas,” Minister Iftitah stressed.
The meeting was attended by Minister Teuku Riefky’s key officials, including Secretary of the Ministry, Dessy Ruhati; Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi; and Special Advisor to the Minister on Strategic Issues and Inter-Institutional Affairs, Rian Syaf. Representing the Ministry of Transmigration were Director General of Economic Development and Community Empowerment, Velix Vernando Wanggai; Special Advisor on Governance and Institutional Relations, Ni Luh Putu Caosa Indryani; and Ministerial Expert Staff, Eva Julianti.
