Jakarta, 7 August 2025 – The Minister of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, expressed strong optimism for the future of Indonesian cinema after attending the gala premiere of La Tahzan: Cinta, Dosa, Luka at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Thursday, 7 August 2025. Produced by MD Entertainment, the film is considered capable of competing in global markets due to its cinematographic quality, narrative strength, and well-developed production ecosystem.

“I highly appreciate the work of MD Entertainment for their consistency in elevating and championing Indonesian films. They do not only focus on the film itself, but on the entire ecosystem, from financing film workers to bringing Indonesia’s name to the international stage,” said the Minister of Creative Economy in his interview.
The Minister emphasized that Indonesia’s film industry is currently experiencing rapid development. Various national productions have begun to dominate domestic cinema screens, reflecting the growing confidence of Indonesian filmmakers to compete in the local market and signaling a healthy, expanding film ecosystem.
“The quality of Indonesian films continues to improve, and most importantly, the public appreciation keeps growing. However, we also understand that challenges remain, particularly in distributing our nation’s creative works. This is a shared responsibility. Beyond strengthening the domestic market, I encourage MD Entertainment to set an example of boldness in expanding into regional and even international markets,” the Minister added.

La Tahzan: Cinta, Dosa, Luka is based on a true story and directed by Hanung Bramantyo. The film stars Marshanda, Deva Mahenra, and Ariel Tatum, who portray characters shaped by emotional conflict and a journey of redemption.
The film will be released simultaneously in cinemas nationwide on 14 August 2025 and is expected to spark public discussion for its strong moral message and high production quality.
