Minister of Creative Economy at Ekraf Tech Summit: Development Is Not Only About Steel, but Also Data and Human Creativity

Jakarta, 16 December 2025 — The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency, organized Ekraf Tech Summit 2025 to encourage the utilization of creative technology in addressing national mobility challenges. Infrastructure development is not limited to physical construction, but requires a more holistic approach and strong cross-sector collaboration.

Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, memberi sambutan dalam acara Ekraf Tech Summit 2025 di Hotel Pullman, Jakarta, Selasa (16/12/2025).

Ekraf Tech Summit 2025, held on 16–17 December 2025 at the Pullman Hotel, Jakarta, showcased cross-stakeholder collaboration through a hexahelix framework. The government acts as orchestrator and catalyst, supported by international and national partners, regulators and the financial sector including the Financial Services Authority (OJK), ministries and agencies to synchronize policies from upstream to downstream, creators as sources of ideas, and investors who drive commercialization and the sustainability of innovation.

At the opening of the event, traditional dance performances from Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra were presented as symbols of solidarity and respect for communities in disaster-affected areas.

“Today we are uniting our energy not only to envision the future, but also to assess existing challenges and opportunities. Strategic approaches, policy integration, and the use of technology are key to delivering transportation systems that are more efficient, inclusive, and sustainable for the public. Of course, in realizing this vision, the role of various stakeholders, including the creative economy, is essential to support innovation and concrete solutions,” said the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

Minister AHY also highlighted Indonesia’s major challenges related to urbanization, high logistics costs, transportation safety, and environmental impacts, which require a mobility-beyond-infrastructure approach that integrates policy, technology, and user experience. Therefore, Ekraf Tech Summit, carrying the theme Creative Technology for Smarter Mobility, also collaborated with Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Indonesia to strengthen the integration of technology, design, data, and human creativity in building inclusive and adaptive mobility systems.

“This is a very positive breakthrough and marks an important starting point for positioning the creative economy as a sustainable engine of economic growth. Infrastructure is the backbone of mobility, but it also requires creative thinking and technological innovation to ensure transportation systems are safer, more efficient, and human-centered,” said Minister AHY.

As part of the event series, the Ministry of Creative Economy organized the Ekraf Tech Innovation Challenge 2025, focusing on the development of innovative solutions in the transportation and smart mobility sector. From more than 130 submitted innovations, 10 top candidates were selected for presenting solutions based on AI, IoT, and other digital technologies, namely HIBER TECH, PT Hakaaaston, TransTrack, Solusi247, niriksagara.id, CargoLens, Cargovision, Mimo Mobility & Hoomi Social, PT Netkrom Solusindo, and NextCargos. These candidates will be further selected into three leading innovations to participate in an acceleration program and pilot projects in 2026.

“Development challenges cannot be addressed through conventional approaches alone. Infrastructure and mobility cannot rely solely on concrete and steel, but also require data, design, and technology centered on human creativity,” said the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky.

To strengthen cross-sector collaboration, a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during Ekraf Tech Summit 2025 between the Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology of the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) on research and business development (R&DB) collaboration to promote climate technopreneurship innovation, as well as with the Indonesian Intelligent Transport System Association (ITS Indonesia) on the development of a smart mobility ecosystem. On the same occasion, the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky, also visited the innovation exhibition and the booths of the selected candidates.

Through this event, innovators can expand market access, attract investment, and test their ideas at a real scale,” said Neil.

Ekraf Tech Summit 2025 features three thematic panel discussions addressing smart mobility and smart city innovations, strengthening the startup ecosystem from regulatory and financing perspectives, and strategies for collaboration among industry, investors, and government in driving national digital innovation.
