Jakarta, 15 August 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to carry out the directives of President Prabowo Subianto as delivered in his State Address ahead of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence during the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), the House of Representatives (DPR), and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) at the Nusantara Building, Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on Friday, 15 August 2025.

In his speech, President Prabowo presented a report on the performance of state institutions and delivered a State Address welcoming Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day. The open session was attended by the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, 7th President Joko Widodo, former Vice Presidents Try Sutrisno, Jusuf Kalla, and Ma’ruf Amin, members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, legislative leaders, and foreign ambassadors.
“The purpose of independence is independence from poverty, from hunger, from suffering. Our nation must stand on its own feet. Indonesia must be economically sovereign and capable of meeting its own food needs,” stated President Prabowo.
The President emphasized several key priorities for the government’s 2025 policy direction, noting that global challenges continue to grow more complex amid geopolitical tensions and shifting economic conditions.

“In the midst of global political and economic conflicts, Indonesia’s economy grew 5.12 percent in the second quarter of 2025. To address the concentration of financial circulation in major cities, we have established 80,000 Village and Subdistrict ‘Merah Putih’ Cooperatives to strengthen rural economies and create millions of new jobs. We must eradicate extreme poverty, sustain economic growth, and elevate Indonesia into a respected economic and moral power in the world,” he asserted.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky stated that the President’s message reflects the spirit of building a strong and equitable national foundation—bringing independence into real and measurable impact.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy consistently plays a role within national priority programs to accelerate the growth of creative industries as the new engine of national economic expansion, beginning at the regional level,” he said.
The Minister of Creative Economy noted that the effort to enhance people’s welfare is carried out through a strong hexahelix collaboration approach that supports all 17 creative economy subsectors. He highlighted that Indonesia has significant potential to build a modern civilization grounded in healthy nutrition, improved public health, strengthened education, empowered economic activity, and supported by livable housing.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy remains committed to expanding quality employment, strengthening investment and exports, and increasing contributions to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from the 17 developing creative economy subsectors,” said Minister Teuku Riefky, who was accompanied by Deputy Minister Irene Umar.
