In his speech, President Prabowo presented a report on the performance of state institutions and delivered a State Address welcoming Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day. The open session was attended by the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, 7th President Joko Widodo, former Vice Presidents Try Sutrisno, Jusuf Kalla, and Ma’ruf Amin, members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, legislative leaders, and foreign ambassadors.

“The purpose of independence is independence from poverty, from hunger, from suffering. Our nation must stand on its own feet. Indonesia must be economically sovereign and capable of meeting its own food needs,” stated President Prabowo.

The President emphasized several key priorities for the government’s 2025 policy direction, noting that global challenges continue to grow more complex amid geopolitical tensions and shifting economic conditions.

To address the concentration of financial circulation in major cities, we have established 80,000 Village and Subdistrict ‘Merah Putih’ Cooperatives to strengthen rural economies and create millions of new jobs. We must eradicate extreme poverty, sustain economic growth, and elevate Indonesia into a respected economic and moral power in the world,” he asserted.

The five priority programs demonstrating the government’s presence for the people include:

  1. Village/Subdistrict “Merah Putih” Cooperatives

  2. Housing for the People

  3. Free Nutritious Meals

  4. Free Health Checks

  5. People’s Schools

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky stated that the President’s message reflects the spirit of building a strong and equitable national foundation—bringing independence into real and measurable impact.
