As a newly established ministry of just six months, Minister Teuku Riefky stated that this moment marks the beginning of exploring cooperation between APINDO’s 2023–2028 leadership under Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani and the Ministry/Agency for Creative Economy.
“We appreciate this opportunity to become better acquainted with APINDO’s leadership so that we can collaborate in the future to expand both the number and quality of creative economy workers in Indonesia, in line with the President’s mission under Asta Cita point number 3: Increasing quality jobs, encouraging entrepreneurship, developing the creative industry, and continuing infrastructure development,” said Minister Riefky at the event held at AYANA Midplaza Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday, April 14, 2025.
According to the Minister, APINDO plays an important role in improving the capacity of entrepreneurs and creating job opportunities as a concrete effort to expand employment. APINDO also has a creative economy division, which aligns with the national priorities for creative economy development.
The Ministry of Creative Economy expressed its readiness to collaborate with APINDO. With 17 creative economy subsectors, Minister Riefky believes there is enormous potential for collaboration between Ministry of Creative Economy and APINDO in various fields.

“APINDO can be a strategic partner in the development of the creative economy and help make Indonesia’s creative economy the new engine of growth,” Minister Riefky added.
In her remarks, APINDO Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani expressed hope that the halalbihalal would strengthen synergy between business players and the government to achieve the target of 8% economic growth.
“To achieve an 8% economic growth target, we cannot work in isolation. Collaboration with the government is a must,” said Shinta.
According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), over the past 11 years the creative economy sector has experienced exponential growth in employment, investment, exports, and GDP. Employment alone increased by 90%, from 14 million workers in 2013 to approximately 26.5 million in 2024.
Presidential Regulation No. 142 of 2018 on the Creative Economy Master Plan defines 17 creative economy subsectors: Culinary, Crafts, Fashion, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Games, Applications, Content Creation, Architecture, Interior Design, Visual Communication Design, Product Design, Film, Animation and Video, Advertising, Television and Radio, Music, Publishing, and Photography. These support the realization of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran’s vision, particularly Asta Cita point number 3.
