“What we are seeing today is closely aligned with the government’s priority programs. Each region has its own unique potential that can be cultivated in line with its local character,” said
Minister Riefky when opening the Regional Crafts Council (Dekranasda) Expo in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
The expo was part of the 8th National Recreational Sports Festival (FORNAS). Minister Riefky explained that under the Presidential Regulation, 17 creative economy subsectors are grouped into four clusters: culture-based, design, media, and technology. Of these, seven subsectors are designated as national priorities—culinary, fashion, crafts, music, film-animation-video, applications, and games.

The minister also highlighted progress in strengthening institutional support for the creative economy at the regional level. Five years ago, only five provinces had a dedicated creative economy office. Today, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, similar offices are being established in 27 provinces. At the district and municipal level, the number has grown from 15 to nearly 100 in the process of formation.
“This reflects the growing awareness of the importance of the creative economy. We are optimistic that it will become a new pillar of the national economy,” Minister Riefky stressed.
Governor of NTB Lalu Muhamad Iqbal expressed pride in the achievements of local creative industry players.

“FORNAS is a strategic stage to showcase the finest works of NTB’s creative talents, many of which have already reached international standards. Our task at the regional level is to continue nurturing them, providing access to financing, and tapping into potentials that may have been overlooked,” said Governor Iqbal.
Also present at the event were Chairperson of Dekranasda Sinta Agathia Soedjoko and heads of municipal and district Dekranasda from across NTB Province.
