Jakarta, May 27, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, attended the inauguration of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Advocates Congress (DPP KAI) for the 2025–2030 term. Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized the importance of protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to ensure legal certainty and the legitimacy of products for creative economy talent in Indonesia.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky attended the inauguration of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Advocates Congress to promote legal protection of intellectual property rights for creative economy actors, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (May 27, 2025).
“The creative economy is driven by ideas and creativity that form competitive advantages. Therefore, it has added value that must be protected through Intellectual Property Rights to safeguard original works and products, preventing potential copyright infringements,” said Minister Teuku Riefky at the event held at The Ritz Carlton, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
The Indonesian Advocates Congress (KAI) is one of the advocate organizations in Indonesia that serves as a professional platform for legal practitioners, particularly advocates, to carry out their professional responsibilities independently. The organization’s objectives include upholding and enforcing the professional code of ethics, enhancing the professionalism and competence of its members, and protecting public legal interests through legal assistance.
Minister Teuku Riefky further highlighted that legal certainty produces clear regulations. With this foundation, the programs carried out can enhance the capacity of creative economy players in Indonesia.
“As one of the new engines of national economic growth, the creative economy must be supported by all stakeholders, including the Indonesian Advocates Congress, which is committed to providing legal certainty for creative economy players through advocacy, legal consultation, and protection of rights within the framework of future regulations,” he said.

Minister Teuku Riefky had previously attended the National Congress of DPP KAI, which unanimously re-elected Siti Jamaliah Lubis and Apolos Djara Bonga to lead the organization. His attendance this time was for the inauguration of 70 DPP KAI executives, expected to mark a new chapter, entrusted with the mandate and confidence to move toward a better, more advanced, and more dignified role as a pillar of law enforcement.
The event was also attended by several ministers, including Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, who congratulated the newly inaugurated executives of DPP KAI. Minister Supratman expressed hope that advocates would continue to fight for justice.
“The advocate profession is an honorable one because it upholds justice seekers. The process of law enforcement must be ensured, and the Ministry of Law has responsibilities in the legal sector, including the ratification of legal entity status. Congratulations to all members of the Indonesian Advocates Congress who have been inaugurated,” said Minister Supratman.

Meanwhile, Chair of the Inauguration Committee of DPP KAI, Muhammad Milano, stated that the Indonesian Advocates Congress must always be adaptive, innovative, and responsive in upholding the supremacy of law. He added that this is in line with the mandate of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
“The Indonesian Advocates Congress stands at the forefront of fighting for justice and representing the voices of those seeking fairness. With sustainable leadership and a new management composition, as law enforcers, we bear the great responsibility of ensuring that the dignity of the advocate profession is always upheld, so that the law is enforced impartially and justice always sides with the truth,” said Milano.
At the event, Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy Cecep Rukendi, as well as Special Staff to the Minister for Communication, Media, and Public Services Renanda Bachtar.
