Tangerang, August 24, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, officially closed Heli Expo Asia (HEXIA) 2025, marking an important milestone in encouraging Indonesia’s aviation sector to continuously pursue sustainable innovation. Strengthened collaboration between the creative industries and the air transportation sector was also formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

“Today, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Ministry of Creative Economy and PT Heli Expo Indonesia Asia. This collaboration is expected to provide a foundation for strengthening priority programs and accelerating the growth of the national creative economy. Therefore, the creative economy is expected to become the new engine of growth for the national economy,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during the closing statement of HEXIA 2025 at the Heliport, Tangerang, on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky emphasized that HEXIA 2025 is not merely focused on air transportation connectivity, but also serves as an essential platform supporting Indonesia’s rapidly developing creative industries. According to him, the involvement of Whitesky Group demonstrates the potential for Indonesia to become a hub for innovation and investment in both the air transportation sector and the increasingly innovative creative industry.

“We appreciate Whitesky Aviation for providing opportunities to showcase products and various Indonesian Intellectual Property (IP) in the creative economy sector at HEXIA 2025. The involvement of artists from the creative industry has brought this event closer to the public. From the aviation sector, we are building a bridge toward a creative Indonesia that is innovative, globally competitive, and sustainable,” added Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.
At the same event, Denon Prawiraatmadja, CEO of Whitesky Group and host of HEXIA 2025, stated that the event involved not only creative economy stakeholders but also presented a series of new and engaging programs, including business forums and exhibitions, educational seminars, a food festival, helicopter joy flights, and a helicopter and EVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) showcase. Denon also highlighted initiatives encouraging young creative talent to participate in student competitions featuring idea pitch competitions, photography contests, video content competitions, and patch design competitions.
“This initiative aims to expand opportunities for the growth of the creative economy. HEXIA 2025 is not only a meeting point for industries, especially in the transportation sector, but also a platform for learning and inspiration for young people involving academics, students, and creative communities, thus strengthening and increasing the competitiveness of the aviation and creative economy ecosystems,” said Denon.

Now in its third year, HEXIA 2025 carried the theme Elevating the Industry, Transforming Sustainable Tomorrow. Exhibitors from 15 countries participated in supporting the growth of the global helicopter industry. The event was held at the largest heliport in Southeast Asia and the only one in Indonesia, from August 20 to August 24, 2025.
Beyond serving as an exhibition exploring the future of helicopters, air taxis, and air mobility technologies across Asia, HEXIA 2025 reflects cross-sector collaboration among ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Creative Economy, Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Ministry of Transportation, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Air Police Directorate, National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and various strategic partners. The Ministry’s support follows a meeting with Whitesky Group on March 3, 2025, discussing collaboration to build Indonesia as a center of innovation for air transportation with high added value.

The signed Memorandum of Understanding covers:
Exchange of data and information;
Support for research, education, and coordination in formulating creative economy policies;
Facilitation of funding and financing support;
Utilization of assets and infrastructure of both parties for the development of the creative economy;
Development of creative economy marketing initiatives;
Joint activities domestically and internationally;
Development and protection of intellectual property in the creative economy sector;
Strengthening human resource capacity;
Other cooperation aligned with each party’s duties and functions.
The closing ceremony of HEXIA 2025 was attended by CEO of Heli Expo Asia T. Iskandar Muda, Head of Transit Oriented Development Property Management Division at PT MRT Jakarta Iqbal Bimo, Deputy II of Daop 1 Jakarta at PT KAI Deddy Hendrady, CCO of MDA Consulting Mendiola Budi Wiryawan, Founder of Museum of Toys Deasy Varianti Sutanto, and Recycle Experience (REXP) Founders Evan Driyananda and Attina Nuraini, along with representatives from strategic partners, aviation associations, and sponsors.
