Jakarta, January 24, 2025 - The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency and the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Development of the Creative Economy at The Hermitage Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Friday, January 24, 2025.

The MoU was signed by the Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary, Dessy Ruhati, and the Chairman of ILUNI UI, Didit Ratam, witnessed by the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, along with several Ministry of Creative Economy officials, in support of the creative economy as the new engine of national economic growth.
"This is a major task for all of us to establish the creative economy as the new engine of national economic growth," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
Ministry of Creative Economy aims to engage and collaborate with all stakeholders from business, government, communities, media, financial institutions, and academia. In this regard, ILUNI UI plays the role of an academic institution within the creative economy’s hexahelix framework.
"The development of the creative economy requires guidance, support, and mentoring—not only at the national level but also in the regions. This collaboration is highly beneficial because our Ministry needs partnerships with all parties, including academic institutions like the University of Indonesia," Minister of Creative Economy Riefky stated.

The MoU covers four key areas: exchange of data and information in the creative economy sector; support for the development of creative economy policy innovations; education and training for creative economy players; and cooperation or other activities aligned with the duties and functions of each party.
"Indonesia’s economic development must also be based on the creative economy. Upskilling and reskilling, especially for young alumni in the creative economy sector, are crucial. As Minister Riefky mentioned, this is a significant endeavor," said ILUNI UI Chairman, Didit Ratam.

Also present at the signing ceremony were the Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary, Dessy Ruhati; Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity, Yuke Sri Rahayu; Deputy for Digital and Technology Creativity, Muhammad Neil El Himam; Expert Staff for Research, Education, and Institutional Relations, Dian Permanasari; and Expert Staff for Funding and Financing, Restog Krisna Kusuma.
