Malang, February 13, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, held a discussion with content creators at Sambat Luwe, Malang. The event aimed to strengthen the capacity of local digital creator communities and promote sustainable digital economic empowerment.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky stated that developing the creative economy industry requires a strategic and collaborative approach. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the government and content creators to maximize the potential of Indonesia’s creative industry. Additionally, he highlighted the urgency of copyright protection and tackling content piracy.
"The development of the creative economy industry requires a structured and synergistic approach. Collaboration between the government and content creators is key to optimizing this industry’s potential," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky encouraged content creators to form an association to strengthen collaboration between the government, industry, and creator communities. This initiative is expected to address issues related to unauthorized content usage and reinforce copyright licensing, particularly in the content creation subsector.
"I want content creators to establish an association that enhances collaboration with the government. Let’s work together to resolve issues of unauthorized content usage and strengthen copyright licensing," he added.

Budiono Sukses, a culinary content creator, welcomed the initiative. He expressed that the discussion with the Minister was insightful and gave hope to content creators for resolving copyright issues with government support.
"I hope this collaboration can help content creators address copyright challenges," said Budiono Sukses.

Wilson Tirta, a content creator and game developer, shared a similar sentiment. He praised the Pojok Gim Lokal program initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy, stating that it has significantly helped promote Indonesian local games.
"The Pojok Gim Lokal program at airports, supported by the Ministry of Creative Economy, is highly beneficial in raising awareness and promoting Indonesian local games," said Wilson Tirta.

Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam, explained that the Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to facilitating and supporting the development of Indonesia's creative economy. One of its efforts includes providing Indonesian game booths at international conventions to introduce local products to the global market.
"Ministry of Creative Economy plays a crucial role in promoting and developing Indonesia’s creative industry, including by setting up Indonesian game booths at international conventions," explained Muhammad Neil El Himam.

The discussion event was also attended by Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology Muhammad Neil El Himam, Director of Digital Content Yuana Rochma Astuti, and 14 content creators from various fields.
