Jakarta, 14 January 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency continues to strengthen the development of original Indonesian Intellectual Property (IP) to expand further into public spaces. On this occasion, the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, together with the Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, and the President Director of MRT Jakarta, Tuhiyat, attended the Grand Opening of Placemaking Tahilalats Station 2026 at the Kendal Tunnel, Dukuh Atas MRT Station, Jakarta.

The presence of Tahilalats Station 2026 aligns with the Ministry of Creative Economy’s broader vision to elevate original Indonesian IP to the next level.
“Congratulations on the inauguration of Tahilalats Station, which will continue to empower Indonesian IP to become hosts in their own country and enter global markets. This collaborative spirit is supported by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, which consistently works toward realizing Jakarta as a global city, as well as MRT Jakarta, which has facilitated various local IPs by providing space for creative economy players,” said Minister Teuku Riefky during his remarks at the Transport Hub, Dukuh Atas Interchange, Jakarta, Wednesday (14/1/2026).
The Minister emphasized that developing public spaces through placemaking initiatives is part of a strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s cultural value and creative economy.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy has a mandate to identify local heroes from the IP of the 17 creative economy subsectors to advance into the national market. Previously, the Ministry of Creative Economy also collaborated with Tahilalats to support the growth of Indonesian IP, including through Garuda Indonesia aircraft livery branding, which significantly accelerated the development of the Tahilalats character IP,” added Minister Teuku Riefky.

On the same occasion, the Vice Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, noted that MRT Jakarta recorded 141,872 passengers per day throughout December 2025. During the same period, Dukuh Atas BNI Station registered the highest passenger volume, with nearly 781,000 passengers in one month, making it a worthy connectivity hub for various modes of public transportation.
“With Jakarta’s vision as a global city, MRT Jakarta presents Tahilalats Station as the result of collaboration featuring creative works that are a source of national pride and widely recognized by the public. This initiative represents the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s effort to transform public transportation areas into spaces for expression and promotion of local creative works in an engaging way. We hope this collaboration brings benefits and renewed spirit for Jakarta residents toward a sustainable and culturally rich global city,” said Rano Karno.

Meanwhile, MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat expressed pride in the various strategic collaborations between public transportation and public spaces that are being transformed into creative and innovative areas under the experience hub concept. With 46.5 million MRT users, the traffic and exposure generated are expected to significantly benefit original Indonesian character IP in public spaces.
“This is a long-standing and mutually beneficial creative collaboration with the local IP Tahilalats. Previously, we also launched a merchandise store at Blok M BCA Station. The presence of this merchandise store has generated strong demand from tourists interested in purchasing souvenirs, including keychains,” explained Tuhiyat.

Accompanying the Minister of Creative Economy were the Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, and the Director of Intellectual Property Facilitation Development, Muhammad Fauzy. Also present were CEO of INFIA Corp Aji Pratomo; Tahilalats Creator Nurfadli Mursiding; Director of Operations and Maintenance of MRT Jakarta Mega Indahwati Natangsa Tarigan; and other officials from MRT Jakarta.
