Minister of Creative Economy Discusses Growth and Opportunities of the Creative Industry on the “Kasisolusi” Podcast

Jakarta, 17 October 2025 – Approaching one year in office, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya revealed that one of the Ministry’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) has exceeded its target. This achievement, driven by a strategy of mapping the potential of 17 creative subsectors across regions, serves as evidence that the creative economy is the new engine of national economic growth.

Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, menjadi narasumber pada Podcast Kasisolusi, Jakarta, Jumat (17/10/2025).

“The philosophy of the Ministry of Creative Economy over the past year is that the creative economy serves as the new engine of national economic growth, starting from the regions. We see enormous potential in the regions, not only in major cities. Creative actors and practitioners are spread across various areas, each with extraordinary talents and skills. This creative industry is the most relevant sector for generating quality employment,” said the Minister during the Kasisolusi Podcast at Kasisolusi Studio, West Jakarta, on Friday, 17 October 2025.

The Minister also outlined the four Key Performance Indicators of the Ministry of Creative Economy, which relate to contributions to GDP, exports, job creation, and investment, noting that one of these KPIs has already surpassed its target.

He further highlighted various Ministry initiatives known as Asta Ekraf, which have been implemented through cross-sector collaboration. Recently, the Ministry also launched Ekraf Hub as a digital platform aimed at accelerating the growth of the creative industry with a target contribution of up to IDR 1,532 trillion to national GDP.

“The challenges within the creative industry are always addressed through collaboration with all stakeholders, including academia, the private sector, communities or associations, media, and financial institutions. Given the high demand for collaboration and its complexity, we have created Ekraf Hub as a platform to accommodate new ideas and initiatives so that all stakeholders can be connected in one ecosystem,” explained the Minister.

The engaging discussion continued by addressing the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the importance of storytelling for every creative product and work, as well as investment attractiveness in strengthening Indonesia’s global reputation.
