The Deputy Minister of Culture of the City of Moscow, Mikhail Demidenko, affirmed Moscow's position as the main engine of Russia's creative industry. According to him, over the past five years, the development of the creative economy in Moscow has doubled compared to the city's overall economic growth.
"Sixty percent of Russia's creative economy exports originate from Moscow, and we are targeting this value to double again by 2030," he revealed.
Demidenko also outlined infrastructure development plans, including the construction of 'Kinopark' by 2030, designed as a film production center with decorative sets from various historical eras, and the 'Moscow Game Hub,' which will be launched in November 2025 as a center for video game and animation development. These facilities are expected to strengthen the global competitiveness of Russia's creative industry.
Based on a presentation by ACI, as many as 88 million people in Russia, or 58% of the population, play games, spending a total of approximately 323 million Russian Rubles annually on game purchases or in-game items. Recognizing this potential, ACI, as an agency under the Moscow City Government, focuses on supporting creative companies and projects through grant schemes, acceleration programs, and international promotions.
