Depok, January 22, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, is pushing for the development of education, research, community service, training, and the formation of a higher education consortium for the creative economy at the Vocational Auditorium of Universitas Indonesia.

“Our approach involves a hexahelix collaboration, including engagement with academics to find joint solutions. This partnership can continue, particularly in the fields of intellectual property and the creative processes within universities. Academics play a crucial role in conducting innovative research that enhances the competitiveness of creative products in the global market. This partnership between Kemenekraf and Universitas Indonesia will serve as a strategic collaboration in the education sector,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
Cecep Rukendi, Deputy for Strategic Development, expressed appreciation for Universitas Indonesia’s potential to become a future hub for creative economy talent. Collaboration with other universities will continue to optimize students who are interested in the creative economy sector.

"In addition to gaining inspiration and insights from the Minister, the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) serves as a commitment to developing the creative economy within academic programs and forming a creative economy university consortium that can be joined by other institutions," Cecep stated.
Meanwhile, Universitas Indonesia has already developed vocational programs aimed at enhancing human resource capacity in creating creative works such as films, animations, and game development. These programs are designed to collaborate with industry partners, providing both present and future perspectives to help drive the creative industry as a new engine of economic growth.
"This event marks the beginning of a broader collaboration to stimulate economic growth across various creative industries. At Universitas Indonesia, we offer ready-to-use, action-driven, and creativity-oriented study programs that directly contribute to the creative economy. With orchestration from the Ministry of Creative Economy, we—as stakeholders in education— can help steer the industry in a more structured and impactful direction. This is a tangible step toward supporting the development of an economy based on knowledge, culture, and creativity," said Heri Hermansyah, Rector of Universitas Indonesia.

Accompanying Minister of Creative Economy Riefky at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Creative Economy Agency were Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary, Dessy Ruhati, Deputy for Strategic Development, Cecep Rukendi, and Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam.
