Minister of Creative Economy Encourages Regional Government–DPRD Collaboration to Strengthen Creative Economy with Tangible Benefits

Pacitan, 30 August 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasized the importance of collaboration between regional executive and legislative bodies in building a strong creative economy ecosystem. According to Minister of Creative Economy Riefky, this synergy is crucial for formulating strategic policies to develop creative economy initiatives at the regional level.

Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, saat menjadi salah satu narasumber dalam Bimbingan Teknis Nasional yang diselenggarakan bagi anggota Fraksi Partai Demokrat DPRD Provinsi dan Kabupaten/Kota se-Indonesia di Auditorium Museum dan Galeri Seni SBY Ani, Pacitan, Jawa Timur, Sabtu (30/08/2025).

“For us at the Ministry of Creative Economy, this forum is highly strategic because DPRD is a key partner in ensuring that creative economy policies are implemented and provide tangible benefits for local communities. I want to share how we can jointly strengthen the creative economy ecosystem, highlighting the important role of DPRD and regional heads in establishing creative economy institutions locally,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky during a National Technical Guidance (Bimtek) session held for members of the Democratic Party faction of DPRDs across Indonesia at the Auditorium Museum and SBY Ani Art Gallery, Pacitan, East Java, on Saturday, 30 August 2025.

Minister Riefky of Creative Economy further highlighted that the creative economy plays a critical role in driving regional economic growth. According to the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), seven priority subsectors have significant contributions and potential in job creation while remaining competitive globally. These subsectors are culinary, craft, fashion, games and applications, film, animation and video, and music.

Developing these subsectors is expected not only to increase regional economic value but also to strengthen local cultural identity, which can attract investment and promote cultural tourism. With regulatory and policy support from DPRD, these subsectors can have a direct impact on improving community welfare.

“The creative economy has immense potential to generate employment. This year, the sector is expected to create an additional 400,000 to 1 million new jobs. With regulatory support and budget allocation from DPRD, alongside the commitment of regional heads, the creative economy can create quality employment in line with the third Asta Cita, while contributing up to 8% to national economic growth,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
