Jakarta, February 4, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, is pushing for the strengthening of the creative economy ecosystem, aiming to make it a key driver of economic growth.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to enhancing organizational capacity and building sustainable strategies for the development of the creative economy ecosystem, both in general and for associations in particular. From the outset, we must establish the creative economy as The New Engine of Growth to achieve an economic growth target of 8% over the next five years,” stated Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky conveyed this during the Creative Economy Association Institutional Strengthening Event on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Ballroom, 2nd Floor, Gedung Film Pesona Indonesia. The event was divided into three panel discussion sessions:
Presentation on funding opportunities for the creative industry by the Deputy of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
Best practice sharing on association management with Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
Financial management and financing options for creative economy associations by the Revolving Fund Management Institution (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Bergulir) of the Ministry of Cooperatives.
Minister of Creative Economy Riefky acknowledged that the journey for creative economy associations will not be easy. He emphasized the need for dedication and collective determination to drive national independence through the creative economy.

“We extend our highest appreciation and gratitude to all association representatives participating in this event. By promoting entrepreneurship and developing the creative economy industry starting from associations, we can establish policy directions that include strengthening a creative economy ecosystem based on cultural and intellectual wealth, increasing productivity with high added value, and developing creative economy hubs or clusters as a sustainable and inclusive new engine for growth,” Minister of Creative Economy Riefky stated before representatives of 61 creative economy associations from various subsectors across Indonesia.
Also attending the event were Ari Permana, Director of Sharia Financing at the Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB); Andika Permata, Head of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office; and Ferry Irawan, Deputy for Coordination of SOE Business Management and Development at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.

“The transformation of the economy will increasingly be dominated by the middle class. They play a significant role in supporting the creative economy sector amid the economic challenges ahead. Financing options for creative economy associations, as well as schemes such as Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), can be utilized by professionals who already hold certifications as creative economy practitioners,” said Ferry Irawan.
Minister of Creative Economy Riefky was also accompanied by the Ministry of Creative Economy officials, including Ministry Secretary / Principal Secretary Dessy Ruhati, Deputy for Creative Economy Strategic Development Cecep Rukendi, Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy for Creativity and Culture Yuke Sri Rahayu, and Deputy for Media Creativity Agustini Rahayu.
