Depok, March 7, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized the importance of digital resilience as a key foundation for young people to create relevant and competitive innovations on a global scale. Through a panel discussion, the initiative aims to broaden young people’s perspectives and inspire them to strengthen their digital resilience.

“In line with Asta Cita Goal #3, the creative economy is believed to have great potential in creating quality jobs for the younger workforce. Their role in digital innovation continues to grow along with the increasing adoption of technology across various creative economy sub-sectors. It’s important for us to understand that the digital economy is an integral part of the creative economy,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
This statement was delivered during his keynote speech at a panel discussion titled "Digital Resilience: Igniting Youth Innovation in the Creative Economy", held at the Soeria Atmadja Auditorium, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Indonesia, on Friday, March 7, 2025. In addition to the panel, the event explored potential collaborations between the Ministry of Creative Economy and FEB ecosystems throughout Indonesia, as well as think tanks and business players in the creative economy sector.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky highlighted that digital resilience is a critical component to ensure that innovation develops sustainably and competitively.
“Digital resilience is the core foundation to ensure sustainable and competitive innovation. With the rapid advancement of digitalization, young people must possess the ability to adapt to technological changes, cybersecurity challenges, and global market access. Without strength in one of these pillars, digital resilience won’t be optimal, and innovation will struggle to thrive sustainably,” he stated before an audience of 300 participants, including students, university scholars, and the general public interested in the topic of digital resilience.

Also present at the event was Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, who joined Minister of Creative Economy Riefky in presenting four strategic steps to build digital resilience:
Enhancing digital literacy, so that young people understand emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity.
Developing high-quality human resources through tech-based education and training.
Preparing equitable digital infrastructure, ensuring all regions of Indonesia have access to digital economic opportunities.
Formulating regulations and policies that protect innovation and provide incentives for creative industry players.

Arief Wibisono Lubis, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, also attended the event. He stated that FEB UI has long supported activities related to the creative economy, including Jazz Goes to Campus (JGTC) and the National Folklore Festival (NFF), which have significantly contributed to the music sub-sector.
“We extend our gratitude to the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, for delivering the keynote speech at the 16th Student Research Days (SRD). As a learning hub for economics and business in Indonesia, FEB UI has a strong connection with the creative economy. In addition to various art and culture-based activities, we also engage in research, both from UI lecturers and institutions offering policy recommendations. Today, we’ve gained valuable new insights from the Minister on digital resilience,” said Arief Wibisono Lubis.
