The Minister emphasized that input from industry stakeholders is essential to addressing the challenges facing the creative economy ecosystem, particularly the event sector, which connects multiple creative subsectors.
"At the Ministry of Creative Economy, we continue working to address various challenges within the creative economy ecosystem. The insights shared today by the National Event Industry Alliance further highlight the need for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to building an industry that is high-quality, sustainable, measurable, and impactful," said Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya.
He noted that the event industry plays a strategic role by bringing together various creative subsectors while generating broad economic activity. Therefore, stronger industry data and reliable impact measurement tools are needed to better quantify the sector's contribution—not only in terms of event execution, but also its wider economic benefits.
"Every program funded by public resources must demonstrate measurable outcomes. That is why we need stronger methods to assess the contribution of the creative economy, including the event industry, so its economic impact can be properly evaluated," he added.

During the meeting, the National Event Industry Alliance—comprising IVENDO, Forum Backstagers Indonesia, APMI, AFJI, IMARINDO, Rental Indonesia, and representatives of event owners—presented the White Paper on Indonesia's Event Industry Policy, offering strategic recommendations to strengthen the national event ecosystem.
Chairman of Forum Backstagers Indonesia, Andro Rohmana, stated that the event industry plays a significant role in driving economic growth and creativity. However, he noted that the sector continues to face challenges related to institutional recognition, business classification, professional standards, and economic impact measurement.
"We developed this White Paper with the vision of transforming the event industry from being invisible to becoming indispensable. Although the event industry has long been an integral part of Indonesia's creative economy, it still requires stronger institutional foundations," said Andro.
The alliance also presented several strategic recommendations, including strengthening business classification through improved industry data, expanding professional certification, promoting a best value for money approach in public procurement, implementing risk-based licensing, and developing standardized tools for measuring the economic impact of events.

In response, the Minister stated that the recommendations would be followed up through technical discussions with relevant units within the Ministry. These discussions will focus on strengthening industry data, improving workforce competency and certification, developing event economic impact measurement instruments, and exploring collaboration opportunities for the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026.
