"This MNEK 2025 is attended by approximately 3,500–4,000 personnel. Naturally, we hope that this event will not only boost tourism but also contribute to the local economy, especially benefiting Balinese artisans," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky at Benoa Harbor, Bali, on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Minister of Creative Economy Riefky made this statement after attending the opening ceremony of the 5th MNEK 2025 and the International Fleet Review. A total of 39 countries are participating in this event, which aims to strengthen international cooperation in maritime security, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. The execution of MNEK 2025 serves as an implementation of Indonesia’s foreign policy objectives.
Bali was chosen as the host for this international event as part of the application of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita Program, one of which emphasizes national self-sufficiency through the creative economy. The Ministry of Creative Economy also hopes that the five-day 5th MNEK 2025, held from February 15–22, 2025, in Bali, will help boost the local economy in both the tourism and creative economy sectors.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky highlighted the presence of Balinese artisans, who serve as a unique attraction for both Indonesian and foreign visitors and participants. A wide range of handicrafts is being showcased at this grand event.
One of the local sculptors, I Nyoman Weda, displayed his artworks, including statues and intricately carved accessories. He was delighted to be part of this event, seeing it as an opportunity for local artists to introduce Balinese art to a wider audience.

"We artisans are very enthusiastic about joining this event because there are many international guests. It turns out that many people are still unfamiliar with Balinese handicrafts, so foreign visitors are quite fascinated by our work. Hopefully, in the future, our artworks will gain more recognition and continue to grow," said Nyoman Weda.
Similarly, Wayan Sadra, an expert in egg painting, took advantage of the 5th MNEK 2025 to showcase his unique creations. Painting on eggshells remains a rare and distinctive art form.
