Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, memberi sambutan pada peresmian Creative Hub Tanah Datar di Sumatera Barat, Tanah Datar, Minggu (23/11/2025).

“West Sumatra is one of 15 provinces designated by President Prabowo as a priority for creative economy development. I am proud to see the Regent of Tanah Datar committed and visionary in advancing the creative industry in the region. With its strong cultural roots, combined with innovation, digital technology, and high creativity, Tanah Datar is a fertile ground where the creative economy is born, grows, and thrives,” said Minister Teuku Riefky during his speech at Lapangan Cindua Mato, Tanah Datar Regency, coinciding with the 2025 Ekraf Festival Grand Night on Sunday, 23 November 2025.

This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Tanah Datar Creative City/Regency (KaTa Kreatif) program to accelerate the growth of the creative industry in the region. Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized that the spirit of collaboration and the community’s creative potential are key drivers of the creative industry’s advancement in Tanah Datar.

Tanah Datar was designated as a Creative City/Regency in 2021 and is recognized for its strong cultural heritage, spanning dance, music, and crafts. With diverse artistic expressions and creativity thriving among the community, Tanah Datar is seen as having significant potential to reach national and even international audiences.

The 2025 Ekraf Festival Grand Night demonstrated the richness of Tanah Datar’s arts and culture. Performances included traditional dance, local music, and modern-traditional collaborations blending music and fashion. These presentations reflect the dynamism and progressive development of Tanah Datar’s creative industry.

Minister Teuku Riefky also highlighted the immense potential of Tanah Datar’s young generation, who delivered impressive performances throughout the festival.

“The creative works presented at Ekraf Fest—from dance, music, fashion, photography to film by Tanah Datar’s youth—require only minimal commercial refinement to increase their market value. This can open new job opportunities and provide a tangible solution to reducing unemployment in Indonesia,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.

The facility is expected to become a center for creative activity that strengthens the capacity of creative economy actors while helping them enhance the quality and competitiveness of their products.

Regent of Tanah Datar Eka Putra, in his speech, reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to strengthening the creative economy sector.

“We are committed to developing this sector not only to preserve customs and culture but also to improve the community’s economy. With the Creative Hub, we hope the creative subsectors can expand further and become a space for young people to create, promote, and sell their products, thereby stimulating and boosting the regional economy,” said Regent Eka Putra.
