Tanggilingo Village was chosen as the pilot project due to its strong potential in the culinary sector, supported by rich cultural traditions. In addition to being known as a center for Karawo embroidery, the village also produces Karawo cakes, which contribute significantly to the local economy. During Eid al-Fitr, demand for Karawo cakes surges, with production reaching around 13,000 jars marketed not only across Gorontalo but also to other regions in Indonesia.
Minister of Creative Economy Riefky also visited Karawo cake production houses and watched the Tanggilingo Creative Village highlight film “Kambungu lo Kukisi”, showcasing the village’s potential. Beyond culinary, the fashion sector based on Karawo embroidery continues to be developed as a key attraction.
