Jakarta, February 7, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya has invited Shopee to expand its collaboration in advancing the creative economy. Minister of Creative Economy Riefky emphasized the importance of strengthening research, education, and industry facilitation to create quality jobs and drive sustainable economic growth.
"The development of research, education, and creative industry facilities is a key factor in achieving the national economic growth target of 8 percent. Therefore, we need support from various sectors, including Shopee. Our goal is to establish the creative economy as The New Engine of Growth for Indonesia, accelerating national economic growth," stated Minister of Creative Economy Riefky during Shopee’s visit to the Pesona Indonesia Film Building, Jakarta, on Friday, February 7, 2025.
One of the challenges in the creative industry, according to Minister of Creative Economy Riefky, is strengthening the ecosystem, including access to education and training. He also appreciated Shopee’s concrete efforts through various training programs that have had a positive impact on creative economy players.

"Shopee has made remarkable efforts in supporting the creative economy ecosystem, particularly through its training programs. Moving forward, we can expand our collaboration by optimizing the Desa Kreatif (Creative Village) program, which is already in place, to provide even greater benefits to the community," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
In response, Shopee’s Executive Director Christin Djuarto welcomed Minister of Creative Economy Riefky’s proposal for collaboration. She also expressed Shopee’s readiness to support programs initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy to empower creative economy players.

"We are very pleased to collaborate with the ministry through our mentoring program for women entrepreneurs in the creative sector. We hope that through the Emak-Emak Melek Teknologi (Tech-Savvy Moms) or Emak-Emak Matic program, they will be better prepared to become part of the national digital economy," said Christin.
The collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Shopee is expected to foster new innovations within the creative economy ecosystem and generate a broader positive impact. Through this partnership, the Ministry of Creative Economy and Shopee are optimistic that Indonesia’s creative industry will continue to advance and remain competitive in the global market.
