“Today, the younger generation wants to work according to their passion. They are not just looking for jobs to meet financial needs but also to do something they truly enjoy. To open up quality job opportunities, the Ministry of Creative Economy has developed a collaboration concept using a hexahelix approach—bringing together government, academia, business, financial institutions, communities, and media. This will also allow us to support the Ekspedisi Merah Putih activities in Pacitan,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during the meeting held at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Minister Teuku Riefky also presented guidelines for establishing regional Creative Economy Agencies, which can either operate independently or be integrated with existing local agencies. He also expressed readiness to assist.
“We hope that local governments will have strong data and research capabilities, facilitate intellectual property development, and build robust marketing systems, thereby accelerating economic growth in their respective regions. This is what we mean when we say the creative economy should become a new engine of national economic growth—starting from the regions,” Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Pacitan Regency will be part of regional economic acceleration. Future collaboration will serve as a synergy in developing priority locations with added value.
“The establishment of a Regional Creative Economy Agency will serve as a sign of strengthened synergy between the central and local governments, supporting positive collaboration as a means of accelerating growth and fostering connections,” said Deputy for Strategic Development of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, who was also present at the meeting.
According to the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025–2029, East Java has been designated as one of the priority areas for creative economy development in Indonesia. Pacitan Regency, located on the southwestern tip of East Java, has seen significant growth in creative economy-based communities, particularly in the subsectors of photography, film, animation, and video.

“We have activity plans that are inspired by the idea of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. This program will become a special moment to celebrate Independence Day on August 17 while introducing a new branding for Pacitan Regency: 70 Miles of Sea Paradise. The event will involve many creative economy communities, which is why we seek support from the Ministry of Creative Economy to ensure its success,” said Pacitan Regent Indrata Nur Bayuaji.
The Pacitan Regency Government is also committed to strengthening the role of the upcoming Creative Economy Agency, which will explore regional economic potential through various collaborations.
“We also plan to establish the Creative Economy Agency, and we will conduct a thorough review to determine whether it will stand independently or be merged with an existing agency. What matters most is that creative economy growth can happen anywhere, as long as it leverages each region’s unique strengths,” added Indrata Nur Bayuaji.
