Jakarta, 7 August 2025 – The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized that the creative economy is an essential component of national development. For this reason, the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ministry of Ekraf) holds a strategic role amid today’s massive digital transformation.

“The creative economy plays an important role in creating quality jobs within society. This sector contributes significantly to generating new employment opportunities, boosting exports, attracting investment, and increasing its share of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP),” said Minister Teuku Riefky when speaking as a resource person at a Technical Guidance Session (Bimtek) organized by the Indonesian Asta Cita Society (MACI) on Thursday, 7 August 2025, at Hotel GranDhika, South Jakarta.
This activity served as an important forum to strengthen synergy between the government and the public in advancing the creative economy in the digital era. Minister Teuku Riefky noted that the grand vision outlined in the Asta Cita championed by President Prabowo Subianto positions the creative economy as one of the government’s top priorities.
Minister Teuku Riefky further elaborated on the ecosystem formed within the creative industries, an ecosystem that absorbs a significant number of workers and stimulates growth in other sectors. This, he stated, is clear evidence that equitable development and true independence are being realized.

“For example, in the film industry, the ecosystem includes producers, artists, marketing, promotion, partnerships with cinema networks, collaboration with digital platforms, and participation in international festivals. It also involves the media, influencers, and content creators who play an important role in expanding the reach of Indonesian works,” explained Minister Teuku Riefky.
The Indonesian Asta Cita Society was established to support government efforts in disseminating complete and reliable information about the Prabowo administration’s infrastructure programs to all levels of society. The organization encourages public awareness to think critically and to understand information thoroughly and comprehensively, ensuring every discussion and deliberation is grounded in current data and facts.
MACI also carries the mission of fostering active public participation in understanding the direction of national development. Through this approach, the public is expected to take part in monitoring policies and programs currently being implemented, including the creative economy sector, which has become a strategic focus of the administration.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Indonesian Asta Cita Society for inviting us to explain the linkage between Asta Cita and the creative economy. Alhamdulillah, representatives of MACI from across Indonesia were also present. I hope MACI will continue to voice and support government programs, including positioning the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth, starting from the regions as the new beginning of growth,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.
