Jakarta, October 16, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya presented the contribution of the creative economy to national export growth during the one-year mark of the Prabowo Subianto–Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration. Minister Teuku Riefky also explained that the creative economy sector has now absorbed 26.5 million workers, with the majority being young people and women.

"The export value from the creative economy sector reached approximately 25 billion US dollars, or equivalent to Rp 400 trillion, at the end of 2024, contributing more than 9% to the total national exports," said Minister Teuku Riefky while serving as a panelist in the '1 Year of Prabowo–Gibran' talk show broadcast by Metro TV.
Held at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta, the event featured several cross-sectoral speakers to discuss the theme 'Exports-Imports: Key Dynamics of Economic Growth'. Four other panelists were present: Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza, Director of Program and Policy at PRASASTI Piter Abdullah Redjalam, Executive Director of INDEF Esther Sri Astuti, and Chairman of the Indonesian Exporters Association Benny Soetrisno.
In his presentation, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky explained that the creative economy sector is a crucial engine in national export growth. He further stated that in 2025, the Ministry of Creative Economy aims to increase export value to 26 billion US dollars, a rise of 1 billion US dollars from the previous year.

In terms of investment, the creative economy sector shows encouraging growth. Total investment up to mid-2025 has reached Rp 90 trillion, or about 66% of the total investment target. The sub-sectors with the highest contributions include applications, fashion, culinary, and craft, followed by the continuously developing sub-sectors of gaming, music, and animated film.
"In the first half of 2025, export realization has reached about 50% of the BPS target. Next year, we are targeting an increase to 28 billion US dollars, or around Rp 450 trillion, for the export value. We also hope to see a rise in investment value to strengthen export capacity while expanding access to international markets,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.

Minister Teuku Riefky also emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral synergy to expand market access for creative economy players abroad.
"This sector not only strengthens the middle class but also opens up inclusive job opportunities that are adaptive to technological developments and global trends. Collaboration among the government, business players, financial institutions, and the creative community is key for Indonesian products to compete in the global market," he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza stated that manufacturing factories contribute more than 70 percent of Indonesia's total exports, but over the past year, manufacturing in the textile sector has grown very rapidly, along with electronics.

"The most rapidly growing sector over the past year, especially the labor-intensive one, is textiles, as well as electronics, which is currently growing. Ministry of Industry records even show that investment in the textile sector is high, and in fact, there are many investors, especially from abroad, who are relocating precisely to this sector," explained Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol.
