Jakarta, June 10, 2026 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with the newly appointed board members of the Indonesian Film Board (BPI) for the 2026–2030 term in Jakarta. The meeting formed part of efforts to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem through a hexahelix approach involving government, businesses, communities, academia, media, and associations.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya received an audience with the newly appointed board members of the Indonesian Film Board (BPI) for the 2026–2030 term at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/6/2026).
The meeting also served as an opportunity to introduce BPI’s new management and explore potential collaborations to develop a more competitive, inclusive, and sustainable national film industry. During the discussion, the Minister emphasized the importance of BPI’s role as a strategic government partner in formulating policies, strengthening the industry ecosystem, and channeling the aspirations of film industry stakeholders.
“We appreciate the new BPI management for bringing a spirit of transformation to Indonesia’s film industry. In today’s rapidly evolving environment, many aspects must continue to adapt to developments within the ecosystem,” said Teuku Riefky on Wednesday (10/6).
According to the Minister, synergy between the government and industry must continue to be strengthened to address various challenges facing the film sector, ranging from intellectual property protection and market expansion to capacity building for industry players and the strengthening of regulatory frameworks that support industry growth.
“We also hope that BPI’s institutional capacity will continue to grow stronger. In this regard, the Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate on various priority agendas, particularly regulatory strengthening, enhancing industry competitiveness, and involvement in the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE),” he added.

BPI is a non-structural state institution established in January 2014 under Presidential Decree Number 32 of 2014. The institution is mandated to enhance public participation in the film sector as stipulated in Law Number 33 of 2009 on Film.
Fauzan Zidni, Chairman of BPI for the 2026–2030 term, stated that the organization’s vision is to create a film ecosystem capable of producing outstanding and competitive Indonesian films, supported by competent human resources, a healthy working environment, and a sustainable business ecosystem.
To achieve this vision, BPI has adopted four main pillars: producing outstanding and competitive films, improving human resource competencies, strengthening a healthy business ecosystem, and developing an effective communication system.

“Currently, our main focus includes human resource development, policy advocacy, and strengthening the presence of Indonesian films in international markets. We also hope to collaborate on policy-making efforts, particularly in the area of intellectual property protection,” he said.
At present, BPI comprises 75 organizations representing various segments of Indonesia’s film industry. These organizations serve as one of the key pillars in building a healthy, competitive, and sustainable film ecosystem.
During the meeting, the Minister was accompanied by Dessy Ruhati, Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary; Cecep Rukendi, Deputy for Media Creativity; and Doni Setiawan, Director of Film, Animation, and Video.
