Jakarta, 26 November 2025 — Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya supported Indonesian creative professionals participating in two major international events: the Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2025 and the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) Singapore 2025. The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency views this initiative as part of efforts to increase exports of Indonesia’s creative intellectual property (IP).
Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, menerima audiesi para animator, filmmaker, dan Asosiasi Komik Indonesia (AKSI) di Kantor Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif, Jakarta pada Rabu, 26 November 2025.
A total of 16 comic IPs will be featured at SGCC on 6–7 December 2025, with six IPs fully funded by the Ministry of Creative Economy. Meanwhile, ATF 2025, held from 2–6 December in Singapore, will host six selected film and animation IPs from the Creative Acceleration (AKTIF) Film and Animation program, facilitated to promote their work and engage in global networking.
“The publishing subsector has significant export potential, while animation and film are experiencing rapid investment growth. We want to ensure our creators have the space to penetrate global markets,” said Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya during an audience with animators, filmmakers, and the Indonesian Comic Association (AKSI) at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

According to data from Customs, processed by the Ministry of Creative Economy, the publishing subsector recorded export values of USD 4 million in the first half of 2025. Meanwhile, data from BKPM shows that the film, animation, and video subsector attracted investment of IDR 600 billion. Both subsectors are considered highly attractive for international penetration.
Government support is also driven by the economic value of Indonesian creators’ participation in international events. Based on AKSI data, Indonesian creators’ participation in previous Comic Con events generated B2C revenues of USD 2,000–3,000 and potential project deals of up to USD 5,000 for short comics, and up to USD 150,000 for webtoon production contracts.
“We hope this year’s participants can achieve success similar to previous international events. This is a golden opportunity to take our creative works to the global stage,” added Minister Riefky.

In addition, SGCC 2025 will hold a Business Forum & Networking Session designed to connect Indonesian creators with potential global partners in Singapore. Estimated sales over the two-day SGCC event are IDR 200 million for B2C transactions and IDR 2–3 billion for project deal opportunities.
AKSI Chair Sunny Gho expressed appreciation for government support, describing it as a major step to open broader networking and market access.
“We are very grateful for the support to go abroad, especially at a time when comic IPs are gaining international traction. This opens an excellent opportunity for us to network, gain insights from global practitioners, and access wider markets,” he said.
