Minister of Creative Economy Supports Melly Manuhutu in Producing Indonesian Culinary Short Film

Jakarta, April 21, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya held an audience with actress Melly Manuhutu at the Pesona Indonesia Film Building on Monday, April 21, 2025. The meeting discussed plans to produce a short film about Indonesian culinary culture.

Minister Teuku Riefky expressed his commitment to supporting the production of a short film featuring Indonesian culinary treasures such as sambal and coffee as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s creative economy. This collaboration is expected to reinforce the creative economy ecosystem, enhance the competitiveness of the creative industry, and promote Indonesian culinary products to a wider audience.

“We believe that Indonesian culinary short films can become a driver of creative economic growth,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.

In its implementation, the Minister pledged full support for the development of the film and culinary subsectors, including providing the necessary data and information for the production and facilitating a smooth production process.

“We are committed to providing comprehensive support for film and culinary projects, including the data and information required,” he added.

Meanwhile, Melly expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to meet and discuss the project. She hopes that through this collaboration, Indonesia can showcase its rich culinary heritage, including sambal and coffee, to a global audience.

“I am optimistic that this project will introduce Indonesia’s culinary wealth to the world and pave the way for creative innovation,” said Melly Manuhutu, who is also a culinary entrepreneur.

Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy for Media Creativity, Agustini Rahayu, during the audience.
