Jakarta, 2 June 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency supports Nobody Loves Kay, a film presented by Folago Pictures. Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that the film is highly relevant to the creative industry as it highlights the story of an esports athlete.
Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with Folago Pictures at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/6/2026).
“Nobody Loves Kay presents a perspective that is highly relevant to today’s evolving landscape. The aspirations and career paths chosen by young people are becoming increasingly diverse, including becoming content creators, game developers, and professional esports athletes. The key is having the courage to pursue one’s chosen path and the confidence to achieve what one aspires to,” said the Minister during the audience with Folago Pictures on Tuesday (2/6).
The discussion covered collaboration on promotional efforts, distribution across various platforms, and continued support for the film and gaming subsectors. The Minister emphasized that both subsectors are integral parts of the creative industry, creating new career opportunities and quality employment for younger generations.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of storytelling in films to foster broader public understanding of the transformation of the world of work and the opportunities offered by Indonesia’s creative economy. During the meeting, both parties discussed initiatives for promotional collaboration and strengthening the national film ecosystem through strategic partner networks, including gaming communities and other promotional platforms, to expand audience reach.
“We need more stories that help bridge understanding between young people and their parents. Nobody Loves Kay will showcase the potential of Indonesia’s creative industry through the gaming subsector, portraying the journey of an esports athlete striving for success. This is exactly the kind of message that needs to be amplified, including through the film’s promotional assets and content,” the Minister explained.
Nobody Loves Kay will be released simultaneously in cinemas nationwide starting on 4 June 2026. Inspired by the true story of a professional esports player who rose from challenging economic circumstances, the Indonesian film is aimed not only at esports enthusiasts but also at parents, offering insight into the career potential and professionalism of esports athletes within the gaming industry.

In addition, Folago has Folaplay as an OTT platform that will offer thousands of films to provide engaging and affordable entertainment for the public, including 2026 FIFA World Cup content,” added Zhafran Solichin, one of the producers of Nobody Loves Kay.
