“Music festivals like Pestapora can create quality job opportunities by employing creative talents within the industry. We need large-scale events like this so that a roadmap of national and international creative economy events can be mapped out,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during a meeting with PT Boss Pencipta Kreasi at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, on Monday, April 28, 2025.
PT Boss Pencipta Kreasi, better known as Boss Creator, has been behind the success of Pestapora since 2022. The company is committed to being a platform to celebrate creativity while supporting Indonesia’s creative industry by promoting local musicians that appeal to the public.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky also expressed hope that collaboration with Boss Creator would open up creative opportunities for young generations to experience performances by local musicians. This hexahelix approach with business elements is also a concrete step by the government to create new, quality jobs for youth.
“We will explore potential collaboration with the Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKJ) Government so that Pestapora can benefit from smoother licensing processes and promotional support for outdoor events, such as in Jakarta’s creative corridors or public transportation facilities, ensuring Pestapora reaches wider audiences,” added Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.

This year, Pestapora will be held over three days, from September 5–7, 2025, at JIExpo Kemayoran. Beyond music, the festival features numerous booths offering merchandise as well as local food and beverages. As a local intellectual property (IP), Pestapora has been packaged to include pre-events called Latihan Pestapora, which are live music shows.
In previous years, Latihan Pestapora was held in Jakarta and various other Indonesian cities as both a warm-up and a platform to introduce local musicians. This year, Latihan Pestapora will be staged in Pekanbaru and Solo, and for the first time will expand internationally, with an event in Malaysia on July 26, 2025, at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon, Selangor. This international debut highlights the strong potential of the music subsector.
“With the tagline positioning the creative economy as the new engine of national economic growth starting from the regions, Pestapora’s spirit is very much aligned with the Ministry of Creative Economy. Moreover, Latihan Pestapora also begins in the regions, serving as a showcase for creative economy products. In this way, regional potentials can thrive and contribute added value to the national economy,” said Rian Syaf, Special Staff to the Minister for Strategic Issues and Interagency Affairs, who also attended the meeting.
At the same event, Pestapora Festival Director Rizky Aulia said the meeting was a platform to present how Pestapora is not only entertainment but also creates impact for creative industry players. Rizky also recalled Pestapora’s success last year, which attracted 101,435 ticket buyers to enjoy 287 performers across 17 stages at JIExpo Kemayoran.

“Today’s audience session was aimed at introducing Pestapora and how it will escalate into a more massive event with wider promotional outreach, involving various communities and blending multiple music genres in Indonesia. We also presented a digital overview of last year’s Pestapora,” said Rizky Aulia.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy for Media Creativity, Agustini Rahayu, and Director of Music, Mohammad Amin.
