During the audience, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky received a request from APPMI to support the strengthening and development of Indonesia’s fashion industry. This aligns with the target of increasing the creative economy sector’s contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 8.4% by 2029, as outlined in the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky emphasized that the Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to supporting the growth of local fashion.
“We share the same passion to advance Indonesian products. Although this cannot be achieved instantly, strengthening distinctive Indonesian designs is a highly effective strategy. The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to recommend cross-sector collaborations through a hexahelix approach, facilitate communication with sponsors, and encourage the participation of regional products at IFW 2025,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.
The Minister of Creative Economy also expressed his interest in developing the national footwear industry, particularly in Mojokerto. He highlighted the need to showcase this potential on the national stage, such as IFW 2025, to expand markets and strengthen the regional creative economy.

APPMI Chairperson and IFW 2025 President, Poppy Dharsono, stated that APPMI currently supports designers and fashion entrepreneurs from 21 provinces, forming the backbone of regional fashion industries. Their works will be showcased at IFW 2025 to promote national branding.
“IFW has been running for 13 years, serving as an important platform for regional designers. However, the current industry faces significant challenges, with over 100 garment factories closing due to pressure from imported fast fashion. Therefore, we hope for government support to promote Indonesia’s heritage products, which are the identity of national fashion,” said Poppy.
She added that Indonesian designers are not only creative but also innovative in using sustainable materials, such as eco-print fabrics made from environmentally friendly cotton. These products will be featured at Dubai Fashion Week as halal textiles, targeting a global market of more than two billion Muslim consumers.
