Jakarta, February 20, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya has encouraged the 961 newly inaugurated regional heads, sworn in by President Prabowo Subianto, to actively participate in developing the creative economy within their respective regions. Minister of Creative Economy Riefky expressed his readiness to collaborate with these leaders, fostering synergy between the central and regional governments.

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, President Prabowo inaugurated and swore in 961 regional heads, comprising Governors and Deputy Governors, Mayors and Deputy Mayors, as well as Regents and Deputy Regents for the 2025–2030 term at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Minister of Creative Economy Riefky, attended the historic ceremony.
"I would like to congratulate you on your inauguration, as this is a mandate granted by the people of your respective regions. This is a historic moment for Indonesia, with the inauguration of 33 governors, 33 deputy governors, 363 regents, 362 deputy regents, 85 mayors, and 85 deputy mayors, totaling 961 regional heads from 481 regions, all inaugurated simultaneously at the Merdeka Palace by the head of state," said President Prabowo.

"This also reflects the greatness of Indonesia as we uphold a vibrant, dynamic, and functioning democracy. I would like to remind you, on behalf of the state and the Indonesian nation, that those elected are public servants. Each of you must defend the interests of the people, protect them, and strive for their welfare. We are one big family, united in diversity. Let us serve our people and give them the best," he added.
Minister of Creative Economy Riefky highlighted the event as a pivotal moment to establish early communication between the central and regional governments. He urged the regional leaders to develop their local creative economies actively.
"Today’s event is a great opportunity to initiate communication from the outset. Regional heads cannot work in isolation—they must coordinate with neighboring regions and the central government to develop the creative economy in their areas," said Riefky.

"Every elected head and deputy head of the region must ensure they have creative economy policies in place. In line with agreements with the Ministry of Home Affairs, there should be a dedicated Creative Economy Office at the provincial, regency, and city levels. Every region has untapped potential and must be prepared to face the challenges of creative economy sub-sectors, which can create opportunities and drive economic transformation," he added.
At the same event, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), emphasized the importance of these regional leaders fulfilling their duties with integrity and working in synergy with the central government.

"I, along with the Minister of Creative Economy, have just attended the simultaneous inauguration ceremony. The leaders were sworn in by President Prabowo Subianto, witnessed by all of us in the Red and White Cabinet. We celebrate this moment with joy, congratulations, and prayers," AHY stated.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the leaders’ families and close relatives, as well as high-ranking officials from various ministries and agencies. Following the ceremony, the regional heads will undergo a seven-day retreat in Magelang, Central Java, before assuming their official duties.
