Jakarta, 9 December 2025 — Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, reaffirmed the government's commitment to provide continuous support for creative economy players affected by the recent disasters in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. According to the Minister, recovery in this sector is not only about rebuilding infrastructure but also restoring dreams and creative spaces for those who have lost their livelihoods.
Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, meninjau lokasi terdampak bencana dan menyerahkan bantuan kepada masyarakat di Posko Pengungsian Pidie, Aceh, Selasa (9/12/2025).
This statement was delivered during his direct visit to disaster-affected locations in Aceh on Tuesday, 9 December 2025. During the visit, the Minister observed firsthand how communities are striving to survive amid extremely limited conditions.
“For the creative economy sector, the impact is deeply felt. Many creative workers who have long supported their families through their works have now lost their equipment, workspaces, and sources of income. This disaster did not only damage buildings but also took away dreams, creative spaces, and futures they have fought hard to build,” said the Minister.
The Minister emphasized that recovery of the creative economy sector goes far beyond rebuilding physical facilities. It requires moral support, spaces that enable them to create again, and continuous assistance for those who have lost their creative assets entirely.

“I fully understand that rebuilding facilities alone is not enough to revive this sector. Moral support and the provision of creative spaces are essential to restore their hope and spirit to create again,” he added.
Collaboration with regional governments and stakeholders is an essential part of the recovery agenda. Such synergy is expected to accelerate the restoration of creative economic activities in affected regions while creating new opportunities for creative workers to be productive again. The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to continue providing support until the creative workers fully recover.
