Solo, 3 January 2026 – The Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, visited Kampung Batik Kauman and Solo Night Market in Central Java during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday period. Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasized concrete efforts grounded in creativity to support local creative economy products.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, visited Solo Night Market as part of a series of visits during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025–2026 holiday period in Solo, Saturday (3/1/2026).
“The creative concepts at Kampung Batik Kauman and Solo Night Market are highly attractive to visitors. To ensure the sustainability of the creative industry, every local brand must recognize the importance of intellectual property rights,” stated Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during his visit on Saturday, 3 January 2025.
The presence of Kampung Batik Kauman and Solo Night Market demonstrates how the strength of the creative economy can tangibly elevate local brands for the benefit of the community. This represents a form of synergy that has a direct impact during the Nataru holiday atmosphere, highlighting that the creative industry must also pay close attention to aspects of intellectual property rights (IPR).

“What Kampung Batik Kauman and Solo Night Market are doing can have an impact on Indonesia’s economy, particularly in the fashion and craft subsectors. The Ministry of Creative Economy continuously seeks local champions through the Indonesian Creative Export Acceleration Program (ASIK),” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya.
Kampung Batik Kauman represents a tangible manifestation of a tradition-based creative economy, where visitors can directly witness the batik-making process while interacting with local artisans. Several outlets visited included Batik Domas, Batik Gunawan Setiawan, and Batik Soga.

“We want to position Kampung Batik Kauman not only as a center for traditional batik production, but also as a creative village destination that continues to grow, thereby revitalizing creative activities such as training programs that can be expanded to various regions,” said Gunawan Setiawan, Chairman of the Kampung Batik Kauman Association.
