Banten, 13 January 2026 – The Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, conducted an on-site visit to the International Education, Technology, and Health Special Economic Zone (KEK ETKI) in Banten on Tuesday, 13 January 2026.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, inspected the International Education, Technology, and Health Special Economic Zone (KEK ETKI) in Banten, Tuesday (13/1/2026).
The visit took place at D-HUB Special Economic Zone (SEZ) BSD City, which hosts a Biomedical Campus as well as co-production facilities and an Intellectual Property (IP) incubator, making the area highly attractive for investment through talent development and quality job creation.
KEK ETKI was established through Government Regulation No. 38 of 2024, with a focus on becoming a digital hub and an incubator for startups. Accordingly, KEK ETKI is expected to generate positive impacts on economic growth, social development, and human capital advancement.
“What has been invested, planned, and supported through previous government regulations and policies must be sustained. The Ministry of Creative Economy highly appreciates KEK ETKI for recognizing the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth that begins in the regions. Countries with advanced creative economies invariably have strong cultural roots,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.
During the visit, the Minister emphasized that D-HUB SEZ BSD City, as part of KEK ETKI, can serve as a zone offering fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to attract investors. An ecosystem supported by quality employment, affordable world-class health and education services, and the growth of creative industries can form a strong foundation for D-HUB SEZ BSD City.

“Across the 17 creative economy subsectors, the sector contributed 9 percent of total national investment realization in 2025. This demonstrates that Indonesia’s human resources are ready and capable of building ecosystems that make the investment climate increasingly attractive. Therefore, strengthening the activation of KEK ETKI is essential so that investment can flow directly into the regions and creative economy talents can become more productive,” the Minister stressed.
Meanwhile, Sinar Mas Land, as the developer of KEK ETKI Banten, welcomed the visit by the Ministry of Creative Economy and expressed appreciation for the zone’s potential as a center for innovation, health, and education, grounded in digital ecosystem development and sustainable creative economy growth.
“This integrated area focuses on four main sectors: education, health, technology development, and the creative industry. Spanning 60 hectares, D-HUB SEZ offers various investment facilitation measures for both local and global investors, ranging from fiscal incentives such as tax holidays or tax allowances, VAT exemptions, import duty and excise relief, to non-fiscal incentives including simplified licensing, immigration facilitation, and smooth flows of goods and labor,” said Dony Martadisata, Managing Director President Office of Sinar Mas Land.
