“There must be involvement from the central, provincial, and municipal governments, along with various stakeholders, to stimulate creative economy players so they develop further and become increasingly competitive,” stated the Minister of Creative Economy while opening the Ngumpulin Orang Kreatif (NOTIF!) Banjarmasin Chapter at BCH, South Kalimantan on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.

From these creative spaces, the Minister of Creative Economy underscored that the creative economy represents a new perspective that demonstrates how talent, innovation, and culture can become Indonesia’s core strengths. He noted that creative space activation in Banjarmasin can help further elevate products and activities.
“We hope more collaborative initiatives will emerge to bring creative hubs to life and drive the growth of creative products that make us proud. Let us make creativity an endless source of energy, like fabric scraps transformed into new works – from local to global,” he encouraged.

At the same event, the Regional Secretary representing the Mayor of Banjarmasin affirmed that the direction of policies and programs aligns with the national vision for creative economy development. Since its inauguration on 16 October 2023, BCH has served as a creative, exhibition, and performance space for collaboration among creative economy subsectors such as music, crafts, culinary, and digital.
“We would like to express gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Creative Economy for initiating the activation of creative spaces. The theme is also highly relevant to circular economy principles, emphasizing environmentally friendly approaches that generate high economic value. This reflects that the creative economy is about mindset – how we see opportunities amid limitations,” said Ikhsan Budiman.
