“Tribunnews continues to amplify the voices of creative economy practitioners across Indonesia. The philosophy of the Ministry of Creative Economy is to make the creative economy a new engine of national economic growth starting from the regions. Coincidentally, the slogan of Tribunnews itself is ‘Local Eyes Reach Indonesia’,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky at the Tribunnews office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.
“The creative economy is enormous. The ministry’s report card has four main indicators: contribution to GDP, employment, exports, and investment from the creative economy sector. There are 26.5 million workers involved in 17 subsectors of the creative economy,” added Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

During the audience, Minister of Creative Economy Riefky emphasized that the creative economy could become a new source of revenue, particularly for underdeveloped regions.
Through innovation and creativity, communities in these regions have the potential to generate economic value while improving their quality of life. Minister of Creative Economy Riefky also expressed his appreciation for Tribun Network’s ongoing support of creative economy programs.

“Previously, local governments might have looked for data on natural resources or agricultural outputs. Now, the new mining is the creative economy, which must be protected as the final bastion. I also want to thank Tribunnews for continuously supporting the Ministry of Creative Economy in promoting creative economy initiatives across Indonesia,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
Responding to this, CEO of Tribun Network, Dahlan Dahi, shared his view on the scale of the creative economy in Indonesia, recognizing the ministry’s strategic role in encouraging youth creativity and connecting it to future opportunities.
“I was frankly surprised by the vast vision behind the Ministry of Creative Economy. We can now see Indonesia from a different perspective. Historically, we saw natural resources as the main asset or data as the new oil. But creativity, as it turns out, is also the new oil,” said Dahlan.

Dahlan further noted that the minister’s visit was an important step to broaden public awareness of the creative economy. He emphasized the role of digital media in supporting the sector, connecting regional creative practitioners with a larger audience, including global markets. According to him, this can strengthen the creative economy ecosystem while enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness.
“I think the minister’s visit to the media is excellent. Essentially, we share the same mission: to discover pearls in remote areas so they can shine on a larger stage,” he concluded.
