Minister of Creative Economy Welcomes JCI Batavia’s Initiative to Strengthen Global Networks for Creative Economy Actors

Jakarta, 23 January 2026 — The Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, welcomed the intention of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Batavia to collaborate in developing Indonesia’s national creative industries. This strategic collaboration opportunity is expected to encourage Indonesian creative industries to penetrate international markets through the strengthening of global networks and the enhancement of business capacity among creative entrepreneurs.

The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Batavia at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Friday (23/1/2026).

“Our task is to ensure that Indonesia’s creative industry players are not only strong domestically, but also ready to compete at the global level, whether in terms of product quality, business models, or access to international networks,” said Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya during the audience with JCI Batavia at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Friday, 23 January 2026.

JCI Batavia is part of the global Junior Chamber International (JCI) network, which operates worldwide as a platform for young entrepreneurs and professionals aged 18–40. The organization aims to empower its members to create positive change through collaboration, business, and leadership. This spirit aligns with the Ministry of Creative Economy’s strategic role as a connector between creative actors, global markets, and international partners.

Minister Teuku Riefky further explained that strengthening the creative industry toward global markets is pursued through an integrated ecosystem, ranging from human resource capacity building and international promotion facilitation to the opening of cross-border collaboration opportunities. According to him, partnerships with international organizations such as JCI Batavia are crucial to expanding networks, accelerating knowledge transfer, and opening investment opportunities and strategic partnerships for Indonesian creative economy players.

During the same occasion, Minister Teuku Riefky also outlined the 2026 strategic creative economy programs, which focus on four main pillars: creative economy investment, export enhancement, job creation, and acceleration of GDP growth. These programs are designed to strengthen the competitiveness of the creative industry through investment facilitation, export-oriented product development, and the creation of an inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem.

“Going forward, we will encourage well-targeted investment in the creative sector, expand access to export markets, and ensure that this sector is able to absorb a significant workforce. With tangible contributions to national GDP, the creative economy is expected to become one of the main engines of Indonesia’s economic growth,” said Minister Teuku Riefky during the audience session.
