Jakarta, June 29, 2026 – Ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence, the government officially announced the results of the public polling and unveiled this year's national visual identity. The design created by Fajar Novario, a graphic designer from Padang, West Sumatra, has been selected as the official logo for Indonesia's 81st Independence Day.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya attends the press conference announcing the official logo for Indonesia's 81st Independence Day following the public voting process at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Monday (June 29, 2026).
"The logo designed by Fajar Novario, a young designer from Padang, has been selected as the official logo for Indonesia's Independence Day celebration. His design embodies the values of Collectiveness, Synergy, and Growth, which align with this year's theme, A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia," said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Monday (June 29).
Fajar Novario is recognized as one of Indonesia's emerging creative talents, having grown and developed within the visual communication design ecosystem of West Sumatra. A 2023 graduate of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), he has actively contributed to strengthening the local creative ecosystem through graphic design exhibitions and community initiatives in his hometown.
"This proves that creative talents from the regions are highly competitive and capable of excelling at the national level. A local hero can become a national champion," the Minister added.

Earlier, five finalist logo designs created by professional graphic designers from across Indonesia were selected through a rigorous curation process involving the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Government Communications Agency (Bakom RI), and the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI). For the first time, the public was invited to vote for one of the five finalists, each offering a unique visual interpretation by David Wirawan (Surakarta), Fajar Novario (Padang), Kanda Putra (Denpasar), Riskiawan (Malang), and Tiffany Djohan (Batam).
"In accordance with the President's directive, this year marks a historic milestone as, for the first time, the public was actively involved in selecting the official Independence Day logo through a public polling process," Teuku Riefky said.
