Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya receives representatives of Suara.com and Beritajatim.com during an audience at the Ministry of Creative Economy's office in Jakarta on Tuesday (June 30, 2026).
The Minister emphasized that developing Indonesia's creative economy ecosystem requires cross-sector collaboration through the hexahelix approach. He noted that the East Java Media Summit could become a strategic partner for the Ministry in building mentoring platforms for creative economy players across the country.
"The Ministry's focus is not only on nurturing early-stage creative entrepreneurs, but also on accelerating their journey to become nationally and globally competitive. We can collaborate through the East Java Media Summit and regional hexahelix partnerships to establish mentoring platforms within the program," the Minister said during the meeting at the Ministry of Creative Economy's office in Jakarta on Tuesday (June 30).
The East Java Media Summit is the largest collaborative forum, workshop, and media business conference in East Java, bringing together media professionals to discuss digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in newsrooms, and strategies for developing sustainable media business models. The forum is also designed as a platform for knowledge-sharing and capacity building to help local media organizations adapt to the rapidly evolving media landscape.

Dwi Eko Lokononto, Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Beritajatim.com, explained that the summit was initiated to strengthen the sustainability of local media through capacity building, technology adoption, and the development of adaptive business models. As the initiative has evolved, it has expanded its focus to include the creative economy due to its close connection with the future of the media industry.
"Amid today's challenges, collaboration has become increasingly important. We believe media organizations themselves should become creative economy players by developing intellectual property (IP). Through the East Java Media Summit, we hope local media can become more sustainable—both commercially and editorially—while serving as a forum for exchanging ideas on different media business models," Dwi said.
The Minister was accompanied during the meeting by Kiagoos Irvan Faisal, Head of the Ministry's Communications Bureau.
