Jakarta, 22 August 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy (Ministry of Creative Economy) extends its appreciation to the personnel of the Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) who contributed during the Independence Day Carnival and the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (80th Independence Day). The DLH personnel demonstrated dedication in maintaining cleanliness at several crowded points along the Monas to Semanggi route.

“On behalf of the Cabinet Merah Putih, I express sincere gratitude to all parties who ensured Jakarta remained clean during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of independence. We appreciate our colleagues who worked as one team to keep Jakarta clean with effective monitoring and waste handling,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar at the Central Jakarta Environmental Agency office on Friday, 22 August 2025.
“This small token of appreciation is hoped to be a memorable keepsake from the celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day,” continued Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar also took part in the ‘Bersih Merdeka’ cleanup initiative alongside content creator Jerhemy Owen on 17 August 2025. The participation of people of various ages in the program reflected a collective movement to maintain environmental cleanliness in Jakarta.

“Jakarta must be clean. That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the situation in the field, where everyone immediately picked up trash without hesitation. I also hope that wherever Indonesians are, they remain mindful of not littering in any event in the future,” added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
Head of the Jakarta Provincial Environmental Agency Asep Kuswanto deployed 1,800 sanitation personnel, including personnel from the Water Body Waste Handling Unit (UPS), working in two shifts from the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) and Monas area to City Hall and the carnival route in Sudirman-Thamrin.

“On behalf of the entire Jakarta Environmental Agency, I express our gratitude for the trust from the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy who entrusted us to mobilize 1,800 agency personnel (PJLP) in carrying out sanitation efforts during the celebration of the 80th Independence Day,” stated Asep Kuswanto.
In addition, the Jakarta Environmental Agency deployed supporting facilities including 10 toilet trucks, 14 road sweepers, 12 compactor trucks, 12 inorganic waste trucks, 65 dustbins, and hundreds of trash bags. They also successfully collected 79.29 tons of waste following the 80th Independence Day celebration. This reflects the spirit that maintaining cleanliness is part of the independence spirit—ensuring an environment that is orderly, clean, neat, and comfortable. Jakarta Clean, Independence Preserved!
